I'm almost halfway to having my geese done, I decided to do the waste free/four at a time geese. I must say this was a great choice on my part, they really go together nicely. I will use this method more now than the paper piecing that I have done in the past. It goes pretty fast once the pieces are cut and ready to sew.

How much melon shows at the sizes we are using????? It looks to me like you will have over half of your small pieces be white and black w/o any or much melon at all. I would cut a window the size and shape of the melons pieces we have used so far and pass it over the fabric and see what color the pieces would be if cut.(cut the window the finished size of the pieces so w/o seam allowance.)

Try what Kass says. You might end up with a bird and a flower in a goose with little melon color.

If you have enough of the fabric, it would be a great quilt back. I love those birds.

I think it will work. The way Bonnie uses prints especially on neutrals has been eye opening to me. Prints tend to blur edges a little when touching other fabrics. All the quilts turn out well. To me the ones that have more colors in the fabric or design have a softer look and the other ones say with just tone on tones have a sharper look which emphasizes the geometric design. Just trying to say there really isn't a wrong choice. I am loving everyone's pics

Here are three blocks that I made using the fabric in question. I just cut the strips and then cut the goose. Not sure I will use them but will think about it for a while. Meantime I will keep plugging along with what I have.

I would use them. The melon color is still dominant.

Angelina....half....are your fingers smoking? You are one productive quilter.

I have 4 done and gave up. I'll try to start it up again here in a minute.
