Love that round Bugaroo - I've got to not start thinking of what I'll add until I'm done with Mona's. 54.5" unfinished is what we'd be at if everyone added the 6" per side, but it sounds like that's a target and not a hard rule.
Here is a few more pictures. This leaf cluster took almost 2 hours to stitch out, so I'm going to be at this for a while. I've got three designs for leaf clusters, then plan on putting some flowers growing at the bottom.
I had not planned on doing anything to make the quilt look like it's hanging from the tree, but it is an option if Mona would like that. Might be better to wait until it's all done and see if it would look good. I do like how it looks like a quilt within a quilt, and I think with the next borders, it could look like a quilt within a quilt within a quilt. I like that look!
If anyone is curious, my largest hoop is 14"x12". I hoop the stabilizer and then use washable school glue to attach the fabric on the top. So far it's been working pretty well, and it sure does make getting the fabric lined up correctly with the design a lot easier.
Even with a big hoop, when the design is 10x12, there is not much room for movement.

I am in awe of those leaves - beautiful. It amazes me what a machine can do. I used to wish for an embroidery machine, then realized I love my old plain sewing machine and straight stitching!

love those bees! I'm amazed at how everybody is pulling it all together. i've seen round robins, where it just looks like a series of separate borders. but all of these quilts you are making are so cohesive and each round complements the previous rounds to make it look like one intentional quilt that just happens to be constructed with borders. nice job everyone!

I love those bees too!
I'm taking a Thursday and Friday off so will have an extra long weekend. DH wants help with putting the roof on his new shed (it has bare trusses right now) but that shouldn't take that much time so I expect to get Mona's top finished up this weekend.
I also hope to spend time getting to know my embroidery design software better. I want to digitize my employer's logo to put on the quilt top made from mask scraps, so that will be an interesting learning experience. I'm downloading the most current software upgrade right now. I'm also going to move my embroidery machine, was waiting for a UPS to show up from Amazon, and it arrived yesterday. Right now I have the machines plugged into the same one, but when I move the embroidery machine, it will need it's own.

Those wonderful bees! I'm so glad the package was found. Bummer that it isn't part of my group (I had such the idea!!), but I'm so happy to see it delivered and in progress.
The leaves are on my current round/Givio's center and I'm still debating on how wide to cut that final narrow float edge, but I'll be sending Mary a message that I am ready to mail when she is ready to receive. I was able to show my Tuesday group, and the comfort quilt is quilted -- it just keeps getting better and better looking, and is at the one lady's for binding. Another one will be making the label, I don't get much credit other than a few extra blocks, layout, and providing the backing but it is a group project. Many hands making light work
Our friend's husband did get out of the hospital and is doing as well as hoped but she was unable to join us yesterday, we are hoping she will be able to be there next week for the quilt presentation.
I have a few more pinks and orange and other odds and ends that will be going to Rebecca. I found a box that I thought I sent two months ago still in my sewing room, good thing is that it was a random donation and not something being waited on... One other fabric package that will also be going to the post office.
So -- if anyone is in need of care packages of fabric or other things, I have a day or two to get it together and I'm going to the post office anyway. Please let me know, plenty of time and fabric and packaging on hand.
Still two weeks before my trip. Next day or two will be transition between projects and getting out the Frolic UFO again.
I have some ideas about LeeAnn's center coming to me next -- and this morning I got a new one I'm pretty excited about!

birds and bees
Since we have seen some bees and squirrels, here are some of my cardinals and a close up of my kitty helping out right after I laid out all of my additions, she plopped herself right in the center of the project, how do kitties know just where to go, to get all the attention? I'm almost done with motifs and have been sharing progress with IceBlossom so she can get those creative juices flowing ;-) Hugs all!
