I have a big garden too, but I freeze most of my stuff! I would LOVE to can it, but its hard to findtime. Maybe this year, the place I worked closed down, so I will need to save money too!
I always love seeing the jars lined up with all the stuff in them, esp. all the jams and jellys!

I love to can!! My mom and I used to can so many wonderful things!! I haven't done it for a few years. I have the jars, but just haven't gotten around to doing it. :-( I remember one time my father brought home a couple of big salmon, and my mom and I canned them!! He smoked some of it, but we canned the rest. Boy, it was yummy!!

I put up a lot of stuff, mostly fish and game meat. Occasionally I'll get some produce, too much to eat at once, so I'll make stuff with it. One time a friend brought up a whole big cooler full of fresh sweet corn, couldn't eat it all. I made corn relish. It was awesome. Another time it was too many nectarines, it was nectarine chutney, but usually it's rhubarb chutney, rhubarb ice cream sauce or rhubarb pie filling. Yummy!

I love to can & freeze and dry foods. We have a large late garden. We have planted tomatoes, greenbeans, butterbeans, peas, squash( yellow crookneck & zucchini)cucumbers, okra- my fav. and pintos and popcorn. Oh, and watermelons. We also have apples ,peaches, pears, blackberries, blueberries and grapes. We also plan on planting some fall onions and lettuce & mustard, radishes. So you can see I don't have a lot of time to quilt now.Have you ever planted pintos? and cooked or canned them green? They are better than dried pintos.Good to here from a fellow canner.
