No reason to put a bias angle in the strips, unless you want to add a point of interest.
I just put them right sides together and stitched straight across. <wave>

Well, I've got the body of the quilt made, just have to do the borders next. I'm lovin' it! I had a bit of trouble with the first two loops - the fabric was all twisted at the loop area, so I cut it as best I could. After the first two screw ups, I got smart and made sure the fabric wasn't twisted BEFORE I started sewing again. Much better loops! I think these should be called "Crap-shoot" quilts, as you don't know how they'll align and what they'll look like. I really like the way mine came out so far. Have to work in the yard this afternoon, so the borders will have to wait a day or two. Drat!

Does anyone know of a flying geese table runner pattern (preferably free). I've looked at the sites on the net, and haven't seen one I particularly like. It's for my Mom's birthday (which was in April - don't worry, I got her some other stuff, too!). She really wants the FG, which is too bad, because I have other table runner patterns already.

Crap shoot says it all, maybe not as delicately, but spot on. I made one early this week. I was too sick with a cold to concentrate on anything that required actual thought processes. At the time, I was thinking this is not for anyone who has the slightest problem with things not coordinating.
It did turn out rather well, think I might quilt this one myself.

Do you know how to make the flying geese?
If you do, it is a simple matter of deciding on the length of the table runner you want to make, put a two inch strip of fabric between two FG strips, maybe even turning every other strip of flying geese in the opposite direction. <wave>

my quilt club is in to this pattern---we want to call it the accordian quilt----it works well when you layer the strips accordian style next to your work station with the two ends sticking out from the the layers --then as needed join the ends and sewing the strip is a breeze---hope this helps---
