Janice, I stocked up on the Boye #10's, when I purchased my Davis Vertical feed. I probably don't need any more, but I'd still like to know your source - just in case!

Thanks Nancy...mine is the one that the Spousal Unit and I refinished...I posted about it on my blog... :) I still *really* need to sit down with the machine and work with it...was showing it to someone the other day and the top thread broke again, after about 15 inches...may not have been threaded right, but not being SURE, I want to play. Now to find time....

I bought a hopping foot by accident (it is the all metal one and was in the attachments with a pfaff machine I got for $10) and tried it out finally. I had always just machine quilted with light pressure and still had pucker issues, and mostly SID because of it. Well, that hopping foot is amazing. My husband got tired of me saying, look at this!! when I was first using it and learned to FMQ. I keep threatening to read how I am supposed to FMQ but what I am doing works, so I just keep on going. I guess I cheated on that, because I enlarged some of the pics on the quilts page and just semi-copied them. The last two baby quilts I did, I was so proud-not one broken thread or tangle, just one continuous line of stitching.

Charlee, The felt is blue. The divider slips inside the drawer with attachment anchored to it. The number under the shuttle cover slide plate is 528. The number on the shuttle cover slide plate is 67488 last patiented May 12, 1885. I have most of the attachments. Does your irons have the decals still on them? Mine does just has to be cleaned.

Yes, the 301 does GREAT FMQ. I've spent probably 4 or 5 hours over the last few days FMQ with it and I was very surprised. I knew it was a great piecing machine, but I have a new appreciation of why quilters love this machine so much. Guess what? I came home with another 301 this week. Of course it didn't work, and of course the seller said it did, as they ALWAYS do. You just have to assume it doesn't and refurbish it. The tension is in pieces being cleaned but I'll take pics later!

I haven't got the flip top completely done, still working on that part, but she is sitting in the cabinet ready to go! So easy to put a 319w in a treadle - she just dropped right in - no adjustments at all! Now I need to find time to play with her - she will be one of my favorite treadles I am sure!Attachment 286231

OMG that looks amazing, Nancy. You did a fabulous job restoring that cabinet and they look like they were meant for eachother! You'll have to post some pics of the projects you two make together. I'm amazed it treadles so easily. And love the machines name teeeheee:> One question, how do you reach the bobbin?
