The perfect one for you is whatever one you can find!! I have found very few of the old ones that I don't want to sew on.

Well said, Miz Johnny.

I am looking for a bobbin case for a Standard rotary machine about 1910 or so, the release lever is broken on mine. Maybe it can be repaired??

Glenn, I am wondering if sew-classic has one? I never checked into it. It looks a bit like the Singer 306 but I never tried to see if one would fit. At least you got it out of the machine. Did you have to take apart the whole assembly? Was it easier than that Simplex?

Glenn 01-04-2014 03:44 PM

It was easier. I just had to slide the lever over with a small screw driver and it cam right out. It will sew with this case just have to fuss with it to get it out to change the bobbin. If I had an old 15 bobbin case I could change the levers out. that Simplex I am still trying to forget that one LOL

Miriam I think you give me these old vintage beat up machines just to test my skills LOL. HA ha but once I get this motor rewired this one will sew good. And I may not give it back LOL

miriam 01-04-2014 03:52 PM

I didn't expect you to give it back, Glenn. It looked more like your kind of stuff than mine. I'm thinking it did need a little TLC but looked like it would be a nice machine at some point.

It will be a very nice machine. Being that it is electric and if I get the bobbin fixed and sewing good you can have it back. However it will tradle in my standard treadle cabinet so I will have to think about it LOL. I have not started to clean it yet still studying the thing to see what it needs. Does not need much to sew but needs a lot to make it pretty again. You will see it when you come.
