Sorry no you can't drop the feed dogs on either of those machines.

Is it true you can drop the feed dogs on a 99K?

If this is true, can it also be done on a Spartan 192K?

Class 15 machines have dropping feeddogs; Class 66 (includes 99, 185, 192) do not.

But isn't there a plate(aftermarket) that you can get to cover the feed dogs on the 66 and 99? I seem to recall seeing one for a 66 since I found out I can quilt with it.

Here's a modern one:

I have some for some of my machines, but I don't know if I have one for a 66. I don't use the 66s much, just not my favorites, but will have to look at attachments and see which have cover plates.

So Miz Johnny, what is your favorite machine?

Colbaltjars62 08-30-2010 01:50 PM

Thanks Miz Johnny,
The one I saw was not screwed in, it had two posts that fit into the two holes on the bed of the machine. Everything was smooth so as to not catch on anything.
I have a FW but I am reluctant to try to quilt with it.I think the 66 is going to be my "quilter". Billy mentioned that he quilts with his, so I'm hoping I can do the same with mine.
:-D

Very nice Katfish. She is lovely. I am a sucker for hand cranks.

Thank you all for your imput on what model machines drop feed dogs.

I knew if I asked here I would have many who would know from their own experiences what ones did and what ones did not.

Blessings to all, you guys are the greatest and I appreciate you all.

Sandi
