I tried her out and she sews like a dream. That motor is slick, you can just hear it saying, "but I have so much more to how you Clarice"

I did notice that the stitch length did not change much regardless where the regulator was placed. Glenn

I apologize if what I typed seemed offensive, it was not meant that way. I'll try to be more careful in the future...

Vintage, your machine cleaned up really really nice. I hope to get started on mine when the weather breaks. If it turns out half as nice as yours I will be happy.

This has to stop!
ha ha ha, he he he.
Last August I had
but one Janome
I thought I was happy.
Really I did,
But the Horizon came out,
and "NEED" her. I did!
And then, there were two,
one upstairs, one down,
But I read 'vintage' thread,
And one I must own!
I found my old Singer,
a 1904
model 27,
in a cabinet,
she came through my door.
And I thought I was done.
But no! Not quite yet,
Someone said "thrift stores",
I'll find one I bet!
And I did.
Thanks a lot!
Now I can't even pass one
without givin' it a shot
I found Morse Apollo,
alone,
the back row,
She came along with me
The cabinet in tow.
Now surely I'm finished!
My house is quite small.
I can't have another,
I'll not move at all!
But while browsing Kijiji,
just biding my time,
What should I spy?
a little green Elna,
She HAD to be mine!
She is a real cutie,
So now confess.
There's NO ROOM for more,
My house is a mess!
ha ha ha, he he he.

Love the little green Elna. My 'good' machine is an Elna Star. She'd love to have older sister. I'm jealous of the feed dog cover.

My grandmother's house was originally built in 1720, and did not have a "bathroom" until 1946. What is now that bathroom was the room my great-grandfather died in. Her treadle machine did double duty as a countertop, covered with thick towels. When she used it, she had to keep the door open to flip the top up. That house is in Norfolk, Connecticut and is teeny tiny. There was no other place for the treadle, apparently. Said treadle is finally in my possession- in the garage, waiting for us to sell our house and move, and have space to clean her up.....
The house has been amazingly restored by the couple that bought it from my family about a dozen years ago.
No room for a machine in my little 1950's bathroom.
Oh, so, THAT is how to get more cabinets into the house....I never thought about putting one behind the sofa....
Now when you put one in the bathroom, you are ready for a 12-step program, lol !
I have one in mine!!
