I am also missing the power cord. Does anyone out there have a power cord for the Singer 28? And, I also need a manual...free pdf is fine with me.
Thanks for the help!!

Your machine doesn't have a foot pedal, the bar that sticks into the front of the base is a knee lever. You just press your knee against it to run the machine.
I don't have a 28 YET...(maybe tomorrow!! :D ) what does the plug for the power cord look like? I may have an extra...

[quote=Miz Johnny][quote=chris_quilts] My kids are making the noise too but none yet from DH. I am rehoming a couple of them this coming week.
I was talking about the machines but I like your idea better of rehoming the kids. The machines are quieter and definitely don't need the bank of Mom and Dad nor do they care that they are wearing last season's clothing/fabric. Thanks for the laugh, even my younger DD thought it was funny. ~ Chris
Are you rehoming machines or kids? In case you're still thinking about this, machines not only don't need money for college, they also don't talk back.

Picked this up today at garage sale, electrified 66 redeye, made in Scotland sometime after 1935. The case is trash and the hinge pins don't line up. Was make offer, got it for $10, thought I did OK. Has a new rubber belt with it, hanging on the arm and 5 metal, 3 plastic bobbins. Would be a good one to covert to handcrank, already has the right hand wheel.

I just picked up a 1920 electric Red Eye. The machine is in great shape except that someone put scotch tape all over it even on the decals. What can I use to get the tape off with
out damaging the decales? The portable cabinet is in bad shape. Kathie

Also remember these machines don't have to be fed just a little oil now and then.
