Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
Anyone looking for a mini Eldredge: http://knoxville.craigslist.org/atq/3060432582.html
Love it... !
The American Girl is so darling. That would be nice to display with an American Doll sitting next to it.
I'm cleaning up my Necchi SuperNova. What can you use to clean the accessory box? Water and a bit of dish soap? I read that they are made of bakelite?
Thank you, Anamaria

I live in TOPEKA but just don't have the room for a treadle.

Anamaria, That looks clean to me. I just wipe it down with water and a bit of the dish soap. Just don't used alcohol to clean it. There are numerous tips on the net, but I haven't tried any of them with my Necchi box for cleaning it up. I never realized this was bakelite. Thanks for that bit of info!
It looks like a Chandler Button Machine. Not sure about the model, but it could be a 471. It sews buttons onto clothing. It can be set to 2-hole or 4-hole buttons, but I’m not sure about shank buttons. It’s operated by hand crank, and the machine does a “cycle” of so many stitches to attach the button before cutting the thread. Many Dry Cleaners still use them, and I got to work on one for our local cleaners. I fell in love with it, and I’ve been trying to snag one for our little shop.
