I'll add some of the vintage machines I recently acquired. Haven't done much research on them at all, but they all appear to be in working order, except that I need to rewire the plug on the White machine, because the plug end broke off. I paid 35.00 each for these machines, in cabinets: If y'all know anything about them I'd love to hear it!

I managed to get enough stuff cleared out of the way that I could pull out my other 2 vintage machines and take photos of them. Both work, but need a good cleaning. They both were my grandmothers, then my moms, and now they are mine. The first is a Singer 301, circa 1948. The second is a Singer 500a, purchased in the 60s. Somewhere I have the original sales receipt but I'm not sure what box it is packed in at the moment. Both are also in cabinets that were bought at the same time as the machines.

So my plan for today was work on refinishing my Davis treadle cabinet, but since its pouring rain I did what anyone would do, and went shopping!
Goodwill had this little girl sitting all lonesome like in the corner, so I had to take her home. For 35.00 I got the machine, the cabinet (in need of refinishing) and a singer 360 electric knitting machine, which I've already resold for 50.00 so I call that a win-win!

was it a goodwill or some other brand store like st vinny's ? since goodwill left e bay and did there own auction site , I seldom ever see a machine in a goodwill store around here ,, when they do have one O boy what a pos it will be, like the nearst me has a white ? that 1477 you always see on craigs list, it's priced at 4.95 and has been sitting there for two months now, Thats the only machine that store has had in the last two yrs....
about 6 months ago Iask then whats the deal why no more machines ? maybe they kept that one for me ? same town ha s a st vinnys, there's a 66 in a hall cab,, at best a 20$ machine, it's been there that I know of over two yrs.. There marked down price is 127 $, they do have machines ,, kenmores, and mid 70's or so singers, there always 50 up.. again for months on the waiting list a 70's / 80's necchi it's price was 50,,yesterday it was 80 the price went up ?? WTH..
I'm in oregon on the goodwill site every machine in this state is saying it's in Hillsboro.. I see those going for decent prices..

it was goodwill. They do local auctions for bigger ticket items each saturday but nobody bid on this 99k so thats why I got such a good deal on it. I'm hoping to hear from the lady that I usually check out with, because she mentioned that she has a garage full of stuff from her mothers, and that she had 5 or 6 old machines and treadles in there she needs to get rid of. I left her my name and number and told her I'd be happy to come take a look at them and make her an offer. I hope she calls!

I think I've officially become an addict. Going to go pick this up in a couple of hours, then thursday I'll pick up my last acquisition for my collection, a 1940s Admiral made in Occupied Japan. I think I'm going to part with my dressmaker, white, lenco, and the singer 500A, and a couple of my other machines, as well as the singer treadle stand I'm getting with the domestic, so if y'all know anyone in need let me know.1873 Domestic High Arm Treadle plus accessories...isn't she absolutely gorgeous!??:
