Default This machine is more likely an "Expert BT"

Correction, It is most likely an "Expert BT" (3/4 sized machine)

That is a beautiful machine!!! I'd love to have it, but don't have anything to trade. The only really old machine I have (before my 1924 Singer 99) is my Gritzner hand crank. I don't know the age of it as I don't know where to look to check my serial number. It's going nowhere.

Trade Bait! A new one for the lexicon. Wish I had something really old to trade you.

Janis: Good for you! Guard that old gal.... (I have about 80% of an old Gritzner on my workbench that I got from Cathy..)

Caroline: Hehe, yeah, I'm full of em (as it were)

So here are photos of the two serial numbers

I have joined the NSMCO yahoo group (National Sewing Machine Company) and there are some folks there who are diving into this one also.

I did learn that the cast iron base was an "Economy" option as it was less expensive to make than the wooden cases..
Go figure....

I also learned that the Motor and cast iron base combination narrows it to the 20's but the decals under the motor mount are hinting at an earlier machine that was electrified.

The real expert on the other group site is in the middle of a life drama, but has replied to me personally and assures me that when life slows down she will work on this with me... too cool.

I wish I had something older than my hubster to trade. Please consider him anyway.
