Judy - I have a question. You said:

For the A set, cut two 2” wide pieces of dark each measuring 19” long. Cut one piece of light measuring 3-1/2” wide and 19” long. Sew 2” wide pieces of dark to each side of the 3-1/2” light. Press to the dark. This strip set will measure 6-1/2” wide. Make sure the width is correct. Slice this set into 12 segments as shown; they will measure 2” wide by 6-1/2”.

When finished with this step, the strip will be 19" long by 6 1/2" wide. How can you cut 12 - 2" wide pieces from 19"? Should it have been 24"? I'm confused.

Judy can you tell me how many more squares I need to make in order for it to be 48" square instead of 36"x48"? Thanks, I appreciate all you help.

CORRECTION:
Hmmmm ... I corrected that this morning when I saw the error but evidently didn't save the document before closing it. I wanted the strip set to be 25" long to allow for squaring up the ends. Sorry.

dd Make 2 more of the blocks you are making today, for a total of 8 blocks made from your light and dark. Next week you will see what you need to do to make a 48" square.

Just to let you know, I am only half nuts. LOL When I read over the instructions this morning, I noticed the error in the 19" length, and went into the file to make it 25". Now that I look at it, I see that I changed the length of the B set to 25" -- it originally was 23". Sigh.

So they are both 25" right? I know I am a nut and I am cracked. I want to double check.

Thanks, Paint Me Judy and Retired Teacher 09 for the compliments on the 4 squares. Just about done with the 2nd clue and then on to the third. I'm with Delphinia wanting to verify the 25" length. Fuss budget that I am!

OK, I think I get it...after rereading the instructions. Set A and Set B should both be cut and the 25" length. Yes?

I ask, because I have zero extra of the dark. Gulp!

Okay...I quilt best looking at pictures! so the glitch
in the instructions didn't slow me down. All six blocks are done, but here are three with the medium fabric peeking through.

Got some done--will finish tomorrow. I knew my light fabric would likely run short, so I used my backup for the big rectangles. It is a very light yellow, though it seems to show up as white in the pictures.
