Whitepine - Great idea with the layer cake. I have a few that would be good for this pattern. I love yours! I'll be watching to see how many blocks you get from a cake.

The finishes are all so inspiring. I do think I will want to use this pattern again. Thank you Judy for doing all the work involved! I plan to catch the next train ride too but wonder if the plaid flannel will also work with that pattern - what do you think Judy? I need to make 3 more throw size quilts for my kids from their dad's flannel shirts. Here is a picture of the first one with borders on, but not quilted yet.
