I think this sounds like a good change of plans...

Okay I took quilt down off design wall to measure properly. The quilt measures 46" x 46". What measurement do I need to fit lattice pattern without strips in between them? This way I know what size green strip to put around so design part will fit that will be my blue with the black fabric.

Default Late to this party!

I just found this thread! Perfect timing as I recently decided to try to make a medallion quilt! So much gorgeous inspiration here! I have already learned that the center needs to be 24 1/2" rather than the 23" that it is....added some borders this morning to fix that! I am anxious to work on the next round...not quite sure what to do...maybe some neutral log cabins? Too busy? Pretty clueless here, but with all of your lovely quilts as inspiration, how can I go wrong?
Pattern for center is here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PB3zZ2sgar..._COVER_400.jpg

I am still working on appliquéing the blue swirls...

Ok I have been toying with this for over a week. Which border should I use. Should I go with the white and purple ribbon or should I use the black with the purple ribbon. I didn't like the white on but then I added that small black border and I think the white is ok now. Which one do you all think I should go with.

Jill, that is a great center. If you go to posts 233, 236, 238 and 240, you will see the first rounds of borders. I think the 9-patches would look nice.
Urgs, I like the white....but I love the black!
Do you think this corner block is better?

Thanks Pam! There are a lot of posts to sift through! Are there any other posts that would be particularly helpful while I try to catch up to all of you? Thanks!

PB, I like the change of the color of the lattice border to black and blue. I think it was standing out too much. Also, what about a plain border of the mouse tan instead of the green. Would that help bring out the mice more or not?

Quilter65, I don't think yours is looking choppy at all! and I like the way you did the red narrow strips to tie the stars together.

PamH, Definitely not too bright. And I like your new corner block! Wish I had thought of that.

jillmc, Beautiful center.

urgodschild2, I vote for the black. It echoes the center.
