Hello All ... anyone remember me?
I haven't forgotten you ... life has been crazy-busy ... and like some of my other PC-Sisters, my back has been bothering me. I know why .... too much garden work!!! At least this time I know why ... whereas sometimes I'm in agony and saying, why?
I haven't done any PCs for oh so long! I really feel like I'm going into remission!!
Spare time this week was to getting entries ready for one of our local Fairs. Took my entries in today and then pick them up on Sunday. And this weekend there's a gazillion other things on the agenda. This afternoon I had the pleasure of going to a quilt show. It was the first time for this Guild to have a show ... over 160 quilts, plus 35 heritage quilts, plus several flimsies. The tea room was outside, and at the edge of a butterfly garden! All the tea tables had table topers in the centres to add to the atmosphere! Well done, for a first show!!!
I see I have a lot of threads to catch up on with GGal now posting her FWS' ... and of course others, and the PC threads too.
Gradually, I'll be back ....... I miss youuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!

Some how I didn't git this thread subscribed to. I remember goin' & findin' it but wasn't gittin any e-mails for it.
I too have back trouble! Last year I broke down & had an epidural. Wow, what a difference. Don't git me wrong I still have some minor pain & can't do anything too long but I can live my life again. I'd do it again in a heart beat.
So who's got the marshmallows?

Aw shucks, everyone ... it's nice to feel missed ....... and wanted!
And to answer your question about the red ribbons ... yes!!!!!! I managed to get back into the hall, and get a few pics on Friday night, before I got kicked out! You see, they didn't have things fully set up, and didn't want the public in the building yet. I saw the main ones ..... my quilts, all three got reds/firsts!!!! The other miscellany, I'll know after I'm back to the fair tomorrow!
This one you're quite familiar with already ....... it was entered in the pieced by one person, LAQ by another, judged only on the piecing ....

The green and purple one is mine and the class was "unfinished top, ready for quilting). It's the BCS mystery that I've been working on. I was quite shocked to see the red ribbon on it, as the one to the right of it was a Country Bride, appliqued quilt with embroidery, plus prairie points. I saw it opened up when we were delivering our quilts, and OMG it was stunning. I'm sure it will be back next year as a finished quilt. Mine is so simple in comparison, I sure never expected to be placed ahead of it.

Mine is the white sampler in the centre, and the class "pieced by one person, hand quilted by another". It's 25 sampler blocks, mostly from the Eleanor Burns books.

That's my three quilts I took, well, here's a 4th one ... that Little Mini that I just did recently. I was pretty proud of it, and to have the mini quilt rack too. Take a look to the left at the other mini and quilt rack ... it was in a counted cross stitch class, andwas done as a mini-quilt, complete with an even tinier quilt rack than mine! Mine was in a miniature quilt class.

So, that's the preliminary results ... I had 16 entries! The rest are miscellaneous sewing/quilting related things ... I chose whatever I had that fit the classes. When I was there, it was all confusing ... as they didn't have them all set up and in place yet. So, hard to find my entries ... and to see what else was in the same classes. I'm pleased ... very pleased with what I saw on Friday night. And yes, I've beamed all weekend!!!!

Thank you JeanieG!!!!
**and blush some more!!!**
They had more entries this year, than they have had in a long time ... wonder what that says about the art of quilting? And especially so, that this is no longer a true rural area ... yes rural, but highly influenced by the urban sprawl, with many in the countryside who are very far from the farm, even though living amidst the farms!!!!! With the more entries, the display space was very crowded, so as you can see, unfortunately, the quilts did not get much chance to show themselves off!
And oh ... how could I forget Miss Mazel ...... yes, she claimed another first!!!!!! I didn't get a pic, but here's one I took before ...
