Can you believe it's almost Saturday? GrammaMary, I love your F fabric. Brights have always been a favorite, well besides black, white, yellow - oh darn I think I have a lot of all of them.

My C fabric has this on the edge: Designed by The Woodrow Studio London England. Wonder where I got it? I think I got it to be the back to a youth quilt. Has so many fun colors in it. Irish, we have a Joann's here so I'm going to run in there to see if that fabric is here. Can't wait to get started on it, but need to finish a couple things before it.

Well, DH is home for the weekend at least. So glad I finished sewing the top to the Christmas Spicy Swirl today so I can concentrate tomorrow on cutting the mystery fabrics. Judy, I'm looking at either a white TOT or a cream TOT for my E fabric. Will wait to see what looks best when we get to that place.

Did someone say brownies? YES!!! I'll even get the ice cream or cool whip to use with them. Of course, they are really good just by themselves. Oh, frozen is good to - I forgot I have a box of Sam's cheesecakes in the freezer. 3 different ones to choose from - I'll share because you all deserve them.

GrammaMary, switching A and E would work. There is a bit of extra in the 1-1/3 yard, to allow for cutting wrong - I do it sometimes, sad to say, and wanted to make sure you had I think it was 4 to 6 inches..

Wow, everyones fabric looks so nice. I have to wait until the beginning of NOv. to go buy my material but you all are sure giving me lots of wonderful ideas. I am not at home until next week. but I will keep checking out the website and drooling over all the choices of fabric.

Pam not knowing the pattern I think you did wonderfully getting the dark to light values as recommended and the colors are great! I say this is a great combo.

I have never frozen brownies uh I dont think they last that long. I put a bag of halloween candy on the table. Granted they dont fill that bag like they used to. My dh will eat that entire bag within 24 hours. I keep saying doesnt your stomach hurt? yikes. If I want one I have to grab it before he sees it and put it in my sewing bag for later. Hiding my own candy before its not mine at all! this train lets vote to save a bench say just for candy and brownies and goodies ok? near my seat please.

I'm going to try to keep up the best I can. I work Sun, Tues, and Thurs (at JoAnns) and babysit my youngest grandson, Cameron, Mon, Wed and Fri. That only leaves Sats free but seldom as today I'm taking my oldest granddaugter, Julia, to get a Day bed for her bedroom makeover and will probably end up helping her make a cover for it. Also 6 of my 7 grandchildren, my youngest daughter, one of my son-in laws, and my husband have birthdays between the middle of Oct and Christmas.

    Clue 2, Oct 20, 2012

Remember your colors? Of the A-B, A is light; of the C-D, C is darker. With that in mind, put together A-B and C-D combinations. Put your C-D aside for another day. If you look at my original choices, you can see I used the first 2 and the last 2 as paired colors.

You will make 24 half square triangles from your A-B combinations, making 6-“ squares, using your favorite method. (bottom picture) Don't forget to nip off the little triangles that will stick out.

For the traditional method, cut 2 WOF strips of A and 2 WOF strips of B strips 6-7/8” wide, then cut into 6-7/8” squares. Put one A and one B right sides together. Mark a diagonal line through the center, top picture, sew ” away from the line on each side, cut on your line and press open. (I am not using pink fabric, they are all in the lavender family, and have no idea how the color came out so bright.)

However, I prefer to cut my strips into 7” wide, then cut 7” squares, making my blocks a teeny bit bigger, then trim to 6-” square -- I always seemed to be off a bit and they never end up measuring 6-”. But now my new best friend is a strip tube ruler for making these half square triangles (second picture); they are never too small or too large - bottom picture. There are also Thangles and Laundry Basket if you use the paper pattern tear-aways. For other methods, refer to the directions that come with that method. If you are new to quilting, there are all sorts of detailed instructions on the internet.

Sorry, I thought I answered you the other day -- your choices are very pretty, all is well.

So sorry to hear about your husband, mine also passed away in September a few years ago.

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks. The white in the pic is actually a light gray. It really does look awesome, hubby even commented on it. FYI, this wasn't a finish from the last train, that was done a long time ago, this one is the 4th one I've made from that pattern. It's for part of a wedding gift, all their kitchen colors are red and black.
I bet that was a rude awakening when she hit the snow. Don't get me wrong, I love kitties, but my allergy doesn't. Years ago had one, broke out with blisters and hives you would not believe and so did my son, needless to say, she had to go. Allergy medication works great as long as I don't touch them or they don't rub against me.
Okay, new blade and sewing machine is ready, the journey begins.......Anybody cooking dinner?? How about mexican, I'll make margarita's

Sorry to hear about your loss. I guess Sept is a weird month as mine passed away in Sept back in 2001. Can't wait to buy my material. Darn I am envious of all of you. But I will be satisfied looking at all your work.

7 sounds good to me also..... just better than having 'leftover' squares that are 'off' ...... and all the little trimmings go in the bag for stuffing the pet beds for the shelter....a win / win IMHO.

Thanks Judy, this is fun !!!!!!!!
