New Quilting Bee, September, 2017
#21
I've been looking for fun layouts. I like some of these modern versions on this webpage: http://www.mccallsquilting.com/blogs...ampler-quilts/ I'm thinking about the 3rd layout.
I've checked this book out of the library. She has some fresh takes on sampler layouts that would be fun to try out for baby quilts or other small project before going big!

Janet, Your quilt with the black background is stunning - really lovely. I know from weaving that black can really make colors pop so it is so wonderful to see the same thing in quilting. Thanks for the picture.
Kristi - Thanks for the link. As a new quilter I am always looking for ideas.

Chasezzz - These blocks came out just great!
What I am going to show you does not have anything directly to do with our Bee, but I want to share with you the quilt that I am working on. The reason I am showing it here is that the quilters here on this Bee have been so helpful to me as I have been learning to quilt. I am starting to sew all these triangles together and they are squaring up to 11" as they are supposed to! This is due to the help and knowledge I have gained here.

Kristyjoy: liked the ideas in that book. Fire is headed toward Oakhurst. And some of fire crew were transferred to So Cal fire. More evacuations have been done.
Chasezzz: liked your blocks.
Here's the blocks I've completed:
The blocks completed yesterday are row 1 #'s 2,3,4; row 2 #4; row 3 #1. I wonder which blocks, if repreated, would form a secondary pattern? Anyone try it?

Thanks for the compliments, ladies. All the blocks being posted are so very pretty! I do love the look of that new Stanley block and am anxious to make one. Just have other stuff that is taking priority right now.

Petthefabric, your blocks are really pretty. You could make more of the ones with the larger HST in them, and work them in. I think those would be pretty in it. Any way you do it will be pretty.
