Now, here is a picture of my August Calendar block for 2012 this year. My color's are very similar to Jeanine's, but just a bit different. Hope everyone likes it & is anxious to get their's started. I can't wait to see more block's posted!!

Thank you so much Jenniky! PP is such a challenge with all the paper in the way and I try to match up the stitching line, sometimes I get lucky :)

Here is my August BOM> I decided to shrink the block to use in my 368 block project (linkedin my signature) and it shows, lol. doing group paper piecing like that is even harder and shows EVERY mistake at the smaller size.

Wnen i did the quilting for the QAYG style of my project I didnt like the initial stitch in the ditch - because i missed the ditch several times. So, I added a decorative feather stitch to the rays. Now, I rather like it. I enjoy the less perfect blocks I so often wind up with. It will be enjoyed for years to come.

What a pretty combination of color's & fabric's you have chosen to put together for you August 2012 Calendar BOM!! :D I love your feather stitching around the yellow rays. It really sets them off. This one was fun! I love Paper Piecing, but I would not do a whole quilt with this block! One was enough..

What great choices. I also thought it was a fun block to make, but like you I don't think I would want to make a whole quilt with just this one block. It would be a work of art, but to much work for me!! Thank you for sharing with all of us today.
