Wow! I am glad we don't have to pick a favorite as everyone has BEAUTIFUL blocks...and the stitching looks awesome... I am concerned that I have signed up for something way out of my league... I don't even understand the computer talk and feel a bit overwhelmed...Maybe tomorrow I can get caught up on my Just Takes 2 and open my DJ software....and TRY to see what I can accomplish....if too much, I can always get a little more experience under my belt and come back to it....right? But ALL your blocks look awesome!!
have you looked at www.thatquilt.blogspot ? Anina has done a tutorial on every block - awesome help !! DottyD |
Could you picture taking 225 bolts to the cutting counter and asking for 1/4 yd of each?! :D :D :D

As I was positioning my melons I measured to make sure the ends would come to the sew line. I didn't want to lose any points. Same as when I make flying geese. It irritates me when I lose a point. But then I think that in the overall scheme, no one is going to see if I lost a point. Galloping horses, anyone???? LOL

[QUOTE=Bettia;4912743]Is anyone here using different fabric for each block?
I'm doing an Around the World color pattern too and all my main colors will be different in each block. I'll reuse background though but not many times per print. I have all my fabs color cordinated in a big container and as I use one I move it to a new container. It's working for me :) |

Hope everyone is having fun with their blocks! Here are mine including one from last week I forgot to post! Sorry for the terrible lighting, I really need to find a way to set up a photo taking space.

Very nice blocks Kallie! I especially like the fussy cutting details on C1. Good job. I may have to copy that idea since I haven't done week two's blocks yet- LOL :-)

I'm so mad I could spit!!! :-( :-( I just finished A1 which really confused me until I went to That Quilt and found out that Brenda had made a mirror image in her book. I finished it and was cutting it to size. My DH -- and he is really the most loving darling -- BUT -- he came in and brought me a cup of coffee and I cut one side 1/4 inch short.
The good news is that it was a row so it will be fairly easy to remove the row and do it over. It would have been a bess if it had been a side instead of a row. Tomorrow will be a better day. Mim |

Oh no Mim! I hope tomorrow goes better and that you are able to redo that dratted row nice and quick! |
Mim, sorry you cut your block tooo short. i learned, like you prob did, as soon as the hubby sits beside the machine, i laid down whatever i was doing. he started saying, "go ahead, i want to watch, and talk". I told him i was painting with material, i couldn't go ahead, while he was talking about 'business, bills, kids, the world, etc, and expected replies."
for sure, i would cut or snip, or sew wrong, if i was doing anything else. on another note, i'm scared, i need to do my scallops. i've been reading everything i can find on them. did practice ones, and didn't like them. i realized why, i didn't add the l/4 inc around the edge of the scallop, so each point between was deeper. which made a little fold of material. need to practice some more, before i am happy with them. |
