and I plan on starting a Dear Jane quilt too.[/QUOTE]

ME TOO!! I've been planning my DJ since September. Then I saw this and fell in love with it too. Then I talked my sister into doing "It Takes Two" AND Deb's "Churn Dash" swap. And now I'm starting to panic... Any advice?

Concerning removing the paper, I don't think there will be any bias edges, since the corner blocks are all cut right angled with straight edges on the outside. I removed paper when all those center seams come together and then when the eight parts come together as a block, I remove all the paper. Hope there won't be trouble later, but I would rather deal with bias than removing all the paper at once.

You'd end up with a soggy mess with bits and pieces of paper stuck all over your quilt. Think: kleenex in a pocket going through the washer!

Thanks for the info Judy. This sounds like experience speaking.

Well, I"ve spent the bettrer part of the last hour catching up on all the postings. I hadn't 'subscribed' to the thread and was far behind in reading and 'gawking' at all the fantastic stars. My Alaska is still on the machine. I'm half way finished and hope to have it done before tomorrow. DH and I are going on a bird watching trip to Hiwassee to look for the hooded crane that has made Tennessee it's part time home (they're usually found in Asia, not North America), so need to work hard today and finish. Keep up the the great work ladies - they're all fabulous.

Sounds like a fun trip. Today I'm going out looking for the snowy owl which has been seen in numbers in our area and which is very unusual.

All I can say is join the crowd, don't stress, and just plod along. You can do it. How would you ever decide which to give up?

What is "It Takes Two"? Could you post a link to it?

Interesting link but I think I have more than enough on my plate as it is. Have finished my Arizona block; will post Sunday. Printing has been done for blocks through Louisiana so I'm set to work on them at retreat. And I hope to work on Farmers Wife blocks as well.
It is gusting to 45 mph outside with snow. So I'm staying in my cozy home and looking out every now and then. We are not supposed to get any accumulation to speak of with this storm. The cold and wind are more than enough to suit me.

I'm done with Arizona too, now to my other projects..... I love these stars. I'll wait until Sunday to post.
