Yes are right April, start at number 1 and you will catch up in no time. Honchey posts a new thread each week, a photo page and a discussion page. Good luck

QuiltE 03-19-2012 07:29 PM

Yippee for you LovingIzabella!!!!

Or you could do what some of the rest of us that started later have done ... jump on in with us with our thread that Honchey posts tomorrow night and ride along each week. Then catch up on the previous ones, as you get a chance.

Good to have you with us!!!!!!! :)

wendiq 03-20-2012 06:16 AM

Welcome April......this is a fun and chatty group. I'm not into the Western Lingo, but they don't seem to mind......I've been able to keep up but because I like to Paper Piece and some of the blocks aren't PPing friendly, I have skipped a few.....no matter as there are no quilt police here......just fun and encouraging folk.......Glad you are joining in.....:)

QuiltingNinaSue 03-20-2012 06:23 AM

Join in on our fun over Spring Break!! We will talk of quilting and recipes and very little about western horse "talk". Join our "campfire" chuck wagon virtual fun, maybe, imagine us in a virtual RV all built for quilters to enjoy and work in...lots of food and fun to come.

QuiltE 03-20-2012 06:34 AM

hhhhmmmmm??? sounds like a Virtual Spring Retreat to moi! :)

*puts thinking cap on* :)

janRN 03-20-2012 08:56 AM

April, jump in at any time. I'm the "city cousin" and don't know ponies from jackasses. In our area instead of y'all we say yinz but we all speak "quilt" here.

QuiltE 03-20-2012 05:04 PM

*jumps in*
to {{{HUG}}} my much loved City Cousin!! :)

There's LOTS about live that you City Slickers can teach us Country Bumpkins!
Such a sheltered life I lived as a kid ... and it really hasn't broaden all that much with age, either.

Luv Ya, JanRN!!!!!!!!!!

oksewglad 03-20-2012 05:31 PM

"don't know ponies from jackasses" LOL!!!!!

Blue Bell 03-20-2012 06:14 PM

Here is a little joke for all you Pony Club members:

A pony walked into a bar and ordered a drink.
The bartender said: "Speak up, I can't hear you!"
The pony says: "I can't. I'm a little horse."

I probably shouldn't have posted here, but thought that you would all get a kick out of it.

QuiltE 03-20-2012 06:21 PM

*snicker*

So you think we have a good sense of humour? :)
And could handle that one?

Pardners
... Just imagine that! :)

BlueBell ... drop by anytime! Just watch out for the smoke around the campfire at this time of night! :)

Blue Bell 03-21-2012 04:28 AM

QuiltE,
I stop by often to see everyone's spectacular blocks.

I am still thinking about starting the FWS. Have the fabric and book but lacking in time.

janRN 03-21-2012 04:29 AM

Love the joke BlueBell (and yes, QE the city girl "got it")
Speaking of the campfire, I have a farm story to share when we get there. Yes, me and chickens in the same sentence--stay tuned!!

gardnergal970 03-21-2012 04:53 AM

Ok Bluebell. You qualify as a PC member with that sense of humor. Time to saddle up.

BETTY62 03-21-2012 04:57 AM

Your blocks are beautiful. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished quilts.

QuiltingNinaSue 03-21-2012 04:59 AM

Bluebell, love the joke. JanRN, ready for your farm story. QuiltE, a virtual campfire never smokes. And it does not burn the marshmallows. Time is what we make out of a 24 hour day, seven days a week; yesterday is history, tomorrow is the future, and today is a "gift"; that is why it is called "the present" !!!

Oh heck ... why wait, JanRN? ... entertain us with it over in the Discussion Campfire thread!!!!
Speaking of which ... I remembered my own horse story to tell ... and probably my one and only!

BlueBell ... absolutely! .... you can be our resident Jokester!

QNSue ... I guess our virtuals have been so realistic ... there's been some pretty smokey ones at times. Ask OKSGlad!!!! :) Although I do like the idea of non-burning marshmallows. I never cared for roasted marshmallows ... hated that burned up guck of it!

wendiq 03-21-2012 06:04 AM

Funny Joke BlueBell......good way to start the morning! But Hey! Ya gotta burn the marshmallows........nice and crispy.....oh Yum!!!! I can almost taste them and it's been at least 40 years since I've had one.......:)

dublb 03-21-2012 08:54 AM

:D:D:D Jackasses, little horses, & burnt marshmallows! What a lot of fun. (I like my marshmallows just barley brown, not burnt.) I'm enjoying this campfire.
Jan & QuiltE, I can hardly wait ta here your stories?

You're not getting mine ... til JanRN spills!! :)
(P.S. .... don't get too excited, it's not THAT great!)

gardnergal970 03-22-2012 04:24 AM

They have to be hot enough that the inside gets nice and melted and just a little flame right at last.

JanieW 03-22-2012 05:38 PM

For anyone who gets wrapped up in the stories and accidently burns their marshmallows, I will eat them. The blacker the better!

JeanieG 03-22-2012 06:23 PM

Hey, make mine into S'mores! Yum!!!

Great block, April. Love the cowgirl in the center. You really did fantastic with the fussy cutting. I warn all newcomers: these blocks are addicting! I plan to work on one and then go do some cleaning but I always end up making 2 blocks and not cleaning LOL. Glad you've joined us.

LOL Thank you all for your kind words on my first block. I had a lot of fun FCing the cowgirl and the horses and even the little star points. The block went together beautifully. I am working on another one today :)

Jan I had to have the cowgirl...after all she has brown hair like me LOL I have four cowboys already planned for another block :-P

Thank you all again for the encouragement. I like this wagon!
Hugs
April

gardnergal970 03-26-2012 04:32 AM

Whoppeee....another cowpoke on the trail. Glad you joined us April. Looking forward to more stunning blocks.

QuiltE 04-06-2012 02:06 PM

Dropping by here for some inspiration as I "Bite the Bullet" to do this block.
Wish me luck!!!!!!!!! in the land of many y-s!

tdtdesign 04-06-2012 04:38 PM

Hi JeanieG,

You're right. A Beauty can't be paper pieced. It's all those Y-seams. Four others can't be pp'd: Bright Hopes (Y-seams), Bird'sEye (curves), Elsie's Favorite (curves), Gold Nuggets (Y-seams). BTW, I don't have those memorized. I peaked at the table of contents for each file of patterns. :D
