Ok, those are so cute! JeanieG talks about her bins for different sized strips and organized by size. Never have gotten that far into cleaning up my QR. I may send you my fat quarters to fit into your containers! It is getting to the point where it all overwhelms me. I Just want a few things to work on and find I have collected far too much stuff. I have been down sizing this past year seriously, and have made a good start in things, but a long ways yet to go.

Maybe we need to have a sale and sell almost everything, so we can not worry about so much outside and inside. Nursing home scene does not appeal to me yet, but I can see it coming in the future..what will be, will be. I have been in denial long enough. Time to put my 'big firl' pants on and look hard at reality. Time will tell.

Have a good day and good week everyone.

Well NinaSue, it made you happy to visit those quilt shops and buy that fabric. If you never use it, it's ok. I have gobs of fabric too, but at least I have whatever I need for whatever I want to do. Just leave your family a directive of where to donate it when you are gone! :o

It happened again. I quit getting notifications for this thread! DB & his family have come & gone. The DGK's play was wonderful! We had a few days of peace & quiet & I started sanding the woodwork in the dinning room. DH went over tit all w/ a quick pass & called it good. It might have been good if this was newer paint but this is old enamal & I know that it hasn't been painted since 1982 or before as DGParents hadn't repainted that room since they bought it. It looks like the people that owned it between us & then didn't either. I am having a hard time getting the shinny stuff smooth. I have about 1/3 of it done. :)

Bev - might have been easier to just replace the moldings! What a lot of hard work!

Sigh Jeanie these 97 yro boards are rock hard & would be very hard to get outta the house. It is actually easier to sand 'em down. I did get some more done yesterday but then the treasurer of our HOA came by & we talked politics for a couple of hours so no more got done after that. Today is DGD's b-day party w/all of her kid friends. (The one before was just supper w/family.) It just so happened that my DB was in town for that. I had promised this party to her when they were still talking about moving here. She is still not happy about the move. Of course she misses all her DF's in Houston. SHe has 2 DR. appoiintments next week in Houston so she will have a 3rd b-day party there w/her DF's & other set of DGP's.

Lucky gal to get 3 BD Parties Bev! You are a great grandma!

It is always hard for children to change schools. It is frightening! I remember going to a Catholic 1-8 Grade School. I went all 8 years, and most of the kids in my class were there all 8 years. When I went to Jr. High (7-9) at that time as a 9th grader, I was scared to death! I did not know very many of the students, and had never changed classes like they did. I did make new friends, even though I was shy.

Jeanie, I changed schools at that same age. We moved towns about 3 hours away and I had grown up with all the same kids in school until then. I remember the horror of walking the hallways between classes, and seeing the sea of faces, not a one familiar. It was traumatic.

Bev, I think your life is about to get ten times busier with your family moving to town... but in a good way! :)

Oh so many similarities, ladies...I was in a one room country school...22 kids in the school, 4 in my class. I went to 7th grade and 50+ kids in my class, moving from class to class...what a change for me too.

Tonight's the last night for the NC family...it's been a fun week with lots of food prepared and consumed! Wisconsin GD is going to spend the week so house will not be quiet for a while! Later...

#2DSon is gonna go to Moody Seminary this fall. He has been here for the last few days. We will take him to catch a plane in Abilene tomarrow to go to Chicago. This first year he can't take his car so it is gonna stay here. He is 24 yo.

My eye Dr. says I have a 'film behind the retina they used in cataract surgery. He will 'measure' that film on Wednesday and laser it in September so I can immediately see again. Meanwhile, will have to 'cool' my desires to quilt or read. One a one to four scale, mine is a five which surprised my eye doctor! So there is hope, in time, I will get back to the miles I have planned in the quilting room. Life is very different when you cannot see past your nose! LOL!
