Welcome Just Jan. We all are looking forward to what you share...If I remember right I have about half of my blocks done...many of them fabric selected, too. That's always the tough part somehow. I'm using some Kansas Troubles and similar fabrics for my PC quilt so not following a pony theme, but have some special fabrics I have added to it. Trying to get last minute things ready before the NC tribe arrives tomorrow.

Here is my first block, "Dandy." Dear Little Bonnie has not arrived in time for Christmas, so the center square is mottled brown, as Amyle imagines she might look when she finally arrives. :D

So sweet, Jan... Love how you are relating each block to a story. The stories are sweet and the children seem so loving and thankful. Also LITERATE! It really impressed me how well children could write back in 1915.

Oh the start to a story quilt!

QuiltingNinaSue is wonderful at building stories for her quilt blocks, too! So much fun.

Block 2, Home Treasure. Sweet Little Bonnie is black and loves to eat hay and cupcakes!

{This block has been a bear from start to finish. I accidentally set my directions for a 6" block instead of an 8" block, had no assembly instructions, cut off some points, then added a border to make it larger rather than making a do-over. This is going to do!}

Cute story about that block, Jan. I've been trying to find thistle fabric. I know donkeys love to eat them, so I think ponies would too. We had a shetland when my daughter was young (Little Joe) and he ate everything in the pasture. I found a picture of Audrey riding Little Joe so I will try and fabric transfer it to my quilt! I also have pics of my boys on William, another pony we had (not shetland, bigger). Also quiltworthy....

I'm so excited about this wonderful quilt. I spent another $20 yesterday on more half and quarter yards of things that will just be perfect to fussy cut for this quilt. And I already had so much pony theme fabric!

I have been busy with my Boom 19 swap blocks, but will finish those soon and be able to get back into the pony blocks. If you want to see my Boom blocks, there's a link in my sig line. They are so much fun.

-Thanks SBG, so glad you enjoyed my stories. Welcome Just Jan, and I love your blocks. As we say here, its your quilt, and do the blocks as you wish and we will all cheer you on to the next one you choose to do.

We had DH cousin and wife come in yesterday...we all love a good card game. They had ordered an ice cream freezer through Amazon.com and wanted to make a batch here. Boy, did it ever bring back memories of childhood and ice cream every Sunday all summer long! The ice cream churned up sooo good along with the chocolate cake J. carried down with them. They left it here to return and make another batch again. She used a bundt pan to bake the Chocolate, Chocolate, chocolate cake and i liked her idea. I always have used the 9 x 13 pan sized for it. Looking forward to when they can come down again.

Doing housework this morning ( i do a bit now and then.) Shredding all those credit card offers and bak print offs. So afraid I might destroy or toss the wrong paper out, it takes me forever to do a box or two. Not seeing as well with mine one eye, but moving ahead the best that I can do.

Needing to get the next Stack and Whack on the vertical board and finish up the rows and setting the rows together for my wonderful neighbor who had started it here. Miss her, but family always comes first with a Mother's heart and multiplies double for grandchildren. It took me a month to sew mine together in June.
