UGH !!!!There's another storm after Octavia...we got another 6 inches...Not too sure if we're leaving as planned :(.

Sorry, Honchey, its just not spring yet. Guess you can smile when it melts away....its not a permanent thing.:) Cold weather will continue here until into March. How far away is Spring, JanRN?

Making sunshine inside my QR, by sewing the same seam wrong in many, many times of trying to get it right. I will get it right before I run out of fabric, I hope! LOL!

DH was not ready to do our chickens today, so its postponed until tomorrow. That gives me a day to work in the QR. Now to get that seam right!

Baseball pitchers & catchers report for Spring Training tomorrow--maybe there is light (or warmth) at the end of the tunnel. We only got a dusting of snow but it's so freaking cold that nothing is melting. I still have large icebergs in front of my house. There was a house fire in town last night--the entire building is now encased in ice; feel so sorry for firefighters this time of year.

For those of you who have smart phones (yes, this dumb senior blonde has a smart phone) there was a post on here about a free quilting app that is awesome. It figures yardage, stores fabric pics, helps with layouts, etc. It's only free this week so if you're interested go to www.quiltsandwichapp.com. If you don't like it you can always remove it. I love having QuiltCalc on my Iphone--use it to figure out yardage for backings especially.

Anne, sorry your trip may be delayed--it doesn't look a whole lot better in the south. My son is on a business trip to Fort Lauderdale. Just emailed me a pic of his "meeting"--from the golf course!!! Ungrateful kid LOL!!! He had to mention it is 78* and sunny.

Jan is there a code or something you need to get it for free? My iPad shows it is $9.99

Oh winter..here in N Iowa we figure once we get through February then we can think about SPRING....about 5° here now. DH hates February, yes the shortest in days, but the usually hardest of the year...cows are tired of winter too. Grands in NC didn't have "pre" school today because of ice.

Jan the app would be great--probably not one for a Kindle--my cell phone is simple flip phone as I hardly use it.

Trying to get excited about doing bookwork....milk check not what I expected. Hope $/gallon will decrease for you folks in the store...as it's fallen about 60¢ a gallon for us since December. Cold but the sun is shining. Have a good day

I didn't do anythin' yesterday. Well I did do a bit o' laundry but mostly sat in my chair. I guess the trip just about wore me out.
Taday I have already accomplished more than I did yesterday. I have done twice the laundry than I did yesterday, loaded the & ran dishwasher, made a run ta the pharmacy w/DH & I have even did some trimmin' on some o' the backin' pieces on a QAYG wallhangin' that I am workin' on. DH & I do need ta go ta the PO soon ta pick up his RX.

Carrie, I got it free on Sunday. Went to the App Store on my phone, searched and it came right up free. Maybe the free offer ended. Another similar app is QuiltingCalc from Robert Kaufman fabrics; I know it's still free, I just checked. It's so handy when shopping especially for backing fabrics or batting. Also gives you measurements for setting triangles and lots of other stuff.

QNS-love the snowman and agree with him totally!!

OK I agree with your DH--I think February is the worst month of the year. I have seasonal depression that starts gradually in Dec but it is worse in February. It's usually our snowiest and coldest. Sure has been this year. I'm sure farming in this type of weather is very difficult.

Most o' our sad times have happened in the winter. Add that ta it in't as light & I do git a bit on the sad side in the winter. Spring hurry up so I can go outside!
