I went in for a cleaning...About 30 years ago I had a tooth go bad and had to have some surgery done to save it...There was some nerve damage as the bottom of the roots had to be removed and as a result I have a condition called paranestesia?
now a tooth close by has a "silent abcess" at the bottom of the root area...I don't feel any pain because of the numbness in that general area..the abcess has been increasing in size for about 6 yrs and now it has to be removed surgically..it's the least troublesome procedure for them & me to have done... I really wasn't expecting anything like this!!!!..There's no emergency, but the Dentist said it could flare up at anytime and escalate into a more serious procedure and loss of the tooth......
You lucked out with the Joann employee Jan...I don't think they're supposed to do that...It's good that you had fun...I was supposed to go to Joann's today to pick up some natural muslin for a few of the Mystery Blocks...I have the bleached white....the coupons are burning a hole in my pocket!!!!

Ok, I do hope they did a MIL on your dh like JanRN said.

Hope you gals off to the dentist get things solved. I haven't had a cavity since I was 21...pulled all my teeth with my first job salary and had plates made, so my are easy to clean!! LOL!!

Good FART trip JanRN. Saving my Joann coupons up for the 21st of this month. We are going off to Des Moines with bf couple to celebrate our anniversary of 47 years at Red Lobster...also will stop at Best Buy and JoAnns on 14th.

Yes, it is snowing here; dh says about 4 inches last night and it was snowy hard on me in town, and drifting onto the highway coming home. Schools are running buses on hard surface roads only this week. Temps are expected warm up by Thursday and be in the 50s through the weekend. St. Louis is a very interesting town to visit...with the Arch, ball stadium, river boat restaurants, the zoo, and more...its about a five to seven hour drive from us... although we did go a lot when we were younger.

Okay Ladies, Mirabelle discovered a error in the Pineapple print out...Nothing major.
after timming the 2 smaller sections tape them together..after trimming the 2 large sections tape them together leaving the open end attached..don't trim it off...when you line up the bottom section(smaller oner) on the large section..it is 3/8ths of an inch short...so just pull it down keeping the outside lines lined up...I think the easier way to do it would be to pencil in the lines on the sections longer than what they are just make sure the strip sections are one inch... I will take a photo later to show you...

Sorry for throwing a spanner in the works Honchey,
I found my pineapple quilt (yes there are not too many patterns I have not tried) made this over 16 years ago and it was paper pieced, drew up the block last night using graph paper and using the method GGal gave us I made a pineapple block this morning and it is 12 1/2 inches. I did this before going to the Doc's.
I started with a 2 1/2 inch square and my strips were cut at 1 1/2 inches, if you look at my block you will notice I have 5 rounds of background fabric and 5 rounds of main fabric. So the maths should work. The corner triangle of the main fabric I cut a 5 1/2 inch square and cut once on the diagonal.

GGal is this what you were thinking of.

Ok I am going to crawl into bed right now, feeling a little sore and sorry for myself. The doc did a little excision and I have 6 stitches in my cheek

Mirabelle...If you go to this website http://www.instructables.com/id/Pine...tern/?ALLSTEPS.. this is what ggal recommended we look at...

Wow...that's beautiful Mirabelle. Just what I had in mind. Thanks again for your help. All of you are so kind and helpful....patient too!

Yes Honchey I printed up those instructions and used that method of construction for making my block. Just used my measurements. I actually liked this method better than paper piecing.

Really gorgeous quilt, Mirabelle. It's mesmerizing!

That pineapple quilt is gorgeous, mirabelle. Hope you start to heal soon. :)

regarding the construction of Gardnergal's block, I am so confused I don't know whether I found a rope or lost a horse. Are we doing the paper pieced one Honchey sent us or are we doing the one mirabelle showed us which is start with a 2.5" square and make it with 1 1/2 inch strips? They are different in appearance even if they are both 12.5

If Gardnergal wants all her blocks to be made the same way, I think we need to clarify this for the person who is making it for March.

Mirabelle--I agree your pineapple quilt is very pretty.

Ggal--you will have to decide...do you want your center square on point (like the original sample and pp pattern Honchey sent out) or square like Mirabelle's block?...I think that is what changes the size of the strips to get the finished size??? I haven't tried making either yet so am not for sure. :)
