Whew! it's just the paper and trimming ........... I thought you were talking about all the fabric too!

It was fun with the twins. Bram puked all over me again :) They both had a bath, I went for a walk with Mick because my DS was very moody and grumpy so I thought it's best if he doesn't see Mick for a while.
We had dinner, the twins had their bottle and we put them to bed. Bram didn't agree :)
Tomorrow he has to be admitted to hospital to see if he can do without the oxigen. So fingers crossed once again!

QuiltE, no ladybug day! I still have to do the back of the cushion but didn't know how my DDIl wanted it. Now I do so next time he will get his ladybug cusion.

Sew thankful thought of the day:Life is good! If the view doesn't seem so great at times, we can choose to change our perspective. So dh did; he went back to bed!! I hope he gets to feeling better; he drank the hot bullion chicken broth for lunch... Me, I had the BLT and hold the L. I have eaten all I can hold, but want more to eat, it was soo good.

Love sitting in the quilting room now. I actually push the buttons on my embroidery machine yesterday and made a butterfly. found out that the guitar was on my stick, but the machine could not read it. back to square one.

Did you get the wrong file QNS? There's software to convert embroidery files. Like Wilcom Truesizer, as far as I know it's free.

QuiltingNinaSue 08-11-2013 01:34 PM

The QS owner converted it for me, so I am going to let her deal with it the week of the 19th when we journey up to DM, and pick up my last sewing cabinet then. I will lug the Embroidery machine along, too., and see if she can load it in the machine or what she has to do for it to load. (I hope she can) I have saved a couple of things on it with Art.com, but apparently the one I want says something different. But thanks for the offer, Anael. Sounded like you had fun with your dgchildren. Have my fingers crossed for Bram.

Enjoying a quiet day, starting to work on Tahiti Stonehenge (a.k., Irish Mist) ordered from Ladybug Quilts, that finishes 68 x 80. Ambitious as I was, I cut out two from the pattern, one for dh and one for me. Interesting. Very clear instructions and illustrations, and I am continuing to label everything in small plastic bags and mark on my copy of the instructions. I know where I am, and where to find what I need. Love it.

My plan is to start the 50 stars in January. I also want to start Dear Jane in January. I will get all the patterns printed and cut out and fabric chosen before that. My goal will be at least one star, one DJ triangle block and two square DJ blocks per week. I am sure some weeks I will do more than that. I figure if I wait until January, it will motivate me to get some more of my UFOs finished before starting something new. Plus I have no idea what fabrics I want to use so need some time to figure that out too!!

Yes Anael another beautiful block. Carriem you have me interested in your January start for the 50 stars:eek: and I could work on my Sylvia blocks. Maybe we could motivate each other. I think Sylvia has stalled as I am just not happy with DD's fabrics, they just don't seem "right". I am trying to imagine what it would look like and in my mind it just looks like a big colourful blob:D. SO I am now thinking of white or cream background, small floral print with 2 or 3 co-ordinating prints. I just have to wait until the right fabric speak to me:eek: I like that small print you are using in Spike but not sure about the gold outline, aaarrrggghhhh why do I do this to myself.

Anael keeping Bram in my prayers, hoping his hospital visit goes well and he can come off the oxygen. I am sure you didn't mind a little puke on you:D

QE--hope you are making much progress in the sewing room.

Anael--great to hear you got to spend some time with the grandkids; especially Mick. I am sure he needs the extra attention these days. Hope that Mom and Dad see that as well as the health of the twins continues to improve.

QNS--I am excited for you to have your sewing room all set up and ready to use. :)

I got the top half of the embroidered quilt together today. Should be able to get the bottom half done tomorrow. The middle row will wait. After QE's suggestion for a label on the front, I have decided to make the center block special for my MIL. I don't do much embroidery, but my oldest DD (15) does, so I will have her put "In Memory of ...." with a couple flowers around it. We will be taking the quilt to be quilted by someone in the area. I'll put a detailed label on the back with who did what on the quilt.

Karen--I would love to have someone help motivate me. :) We are watching a movie, so it took me a while to type my reply (above) and you posted in the meantime.

Jan--how is your Rosie quilt coming along? I have my corners cut for the "on-point" blocks and also the strips for the 2 small borders on the other blocks. Working on pinning corners on tonight so I can sew them tomorrow before getting back to the embroidered quilt. A little each day and I might finish by the end of August.

Anael, sounds like you had a great day with the Sewgrands, puke and all. I'm sure Mick appreciates the extra attention, too. Praying for Bram.

Carrie, Rosie is moving at a snail's pace. I have her sandwiched and all the sashings straight stitched down so I can start to FMQ any day now. It's amazing how many things I can find to do other than FMQ---like cleaning toilets, dusting, playing solitaire on the computer, etc., etc. I have 2 more weeks off work and THAT DAMN QUILT WILL BE DONE!!!!!! Sorry, it's sitting here staring at me and mocking me because I'm such a chicken when it comes to quilting it. I probably shouldn't have signed up for SYE because of all the other unfinished projects I have but love riding with yinz. I think I need a bigger Box That Shall Never Be Opened to hide them in.
