QuiltE, check your regular email from me. Quick and tasty zucchini recipes; want a report back on which one you did chose.

Anael, that sounds like a good way to end the day, reading a book and resting.

I got some sewing into day but also spent some time in the clubhouse designing a card for a friend who wanted a "nice" invitation. She chose the one with the leafy background so I will be cutting materials between now and when she comes over Monday afternoon to help me assemble them.

I have the 3rd border on the airplane quilt. The binding strips are sewn together. I was in the middle of sewing the two colors together (I am doing a binding w/flange) when DH got home tonight. Watching a movie now but might go out later and try to get the binding sewn on....we'll see.

Carriem what a beautiful card, can't wait to see the aeroplane quilt, nearly finished:thumbup:

Honchey I just heard on the news about the New Jersey Boardwalk going up in flames, is that near you, it looks dreadful, fire is so devastating. They are saying that it will be rebuilt.

We are having our annual tv advertisements advising everyone to get cyclone ready, our bad wet weather season starts next month, so time to restock the pantry.

Now it is time for me to head to the sewing room, secret project going on:D will post a pic soon I promise

For the cool weather:

[h=5]Slow Cooked Beef Stew

2 lbs. beef stew meat, cubed
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. black pepper
1 clove minced garlic
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. paprika
1 bay leaf
¼ cup flour
1 chopped celery stalk
1 chopped onion
4 sliced carrots
4 diced potatoes
1 ½ cups beef broth

Set the crock pot on low. In a bowl, mix together the salt, pepper and flour. Add the cubed beef and coat it in this mixture. Once the beef is entirely covered, empty the entire bowl into the crock pot. Add in the rest of the ingredients, cover and cook on either low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours.[/h]

BlueBell ... I'm still interested, as I had a major problem when making the cookies, so the loaves were abandoned! Maybe Sunday? as I'm away tmro/Saturday.

QNSue ... thanks for the zucchini email, though the attachment was just the cover page, and no recipes to be found. Stew is a favourite any time of the year!

DDamsel ... yea for TWO in one day! Did you buy your DJ fabric too?

MiraB ... so what's so top secret? You like your secrets so well, you should write a mystery novel! Get those cyclone supplies ready .......... I know you have your quilting supplies already!
