Oh Nina, I was hoping not for BOB...Had that with the left knee.. eventually had that replaced after having it "scoped"...Right knee has torn meniscus & BOB and am suffering thru it...DR told me get the shots first then eventually replacement...Unfortunately right now for you & me...That's all there is Babe..:(..Ice, ice, & staying off it is the only help.. Having the replacement before the muscles lose their strength & tone is advised...

Mirabelle, That sounds good to me....I remember the same thing happened with the FWS...I hate to tell u how many PM's I got asking for the rotary cutting instructions after just posting them..

The 'support' wrap is really helping and making it feel better...feels like I could run and ride a horse again!:D PT did not think much of the 'horse riding' idea. It would exercise the muscles like the stretch exercises she showed me and a lot more fun! No room for a horse here...just chickens...guineas....ducks...and us quacking up!:D Too bad I did not get the wrap before the 14 days of misery. No weight loss either in the 14 days...activity cut to zero, but still eating three meals, well balanced, well, mainly protein. Otherwise, the BP meds make me dizzier than usual.

JeanieG, is it time for the kitchen reveal?

Honchey, what ever you decide with SYE is ok by me; Mirabelle has been wonderful to post and answer the questions with so much patience and kindness. Thanks to both of you for doing so much.

Bev I am glad you can see the end in sight, are you going to sell or rent it?

As I have been house bound since last Thursday morning:eek: I have made a lot of progress in my cave. Here is what I made yesterday and today. It just needs 2 borders and it is getting to quilt. The 4 blocks at the top are the bed runner. I had a pattern but boy was it wrong, yardage for the white was 7/8 yard for 9 blocks, I had 1 yard and made 13 blocks with 4 1/2 inches left over, it said 1/2 yard for the sashing, I used 8 inches which included the 3 sashing strips for the bed runner. All the rest was cut from scraps, even the black and white print, it was bits of left over backing fabric. I feel like I made a very very small dent in the stash:D

Honchey my DS just had surgery for a torn meniscus, not sure exactly what they did, but the terms they used were cleaned it all out and packed it. This is the first time is almost 14 years he has not had a swollen knee. It was also his third surgery.

I also finished 12 of my little girls, they are a lot of fun to stitch out but there are a lot of thread changes and over 50,000 stitches in each one. I plan on doing some more, I have 30 designs in total, don't know if I will make that many we will have to wait and see.

QuiltingNinaSue 10-08-2013 04:51 AM

Wow, Mirabelle, Wow. That is a lot of changing thread, but well worth your efforts...so darling, so nice to wake up in the morning and see your progress, even if I cannot begin to match it. Well done. Inspiriting, good way to start my morning off on a good note.

Not expecting many good notes ahead this morning. Wrapped and put on the 'brace', hope its tight enough to stay up. Have to call Maytag and see 'if' they can service a refrigerator seven years old that has gone out. And go from there.

First of all ... my apologies Ladies about my Spike comments yesterday.
I should not have commented being that I have yet to participate.
I was only trying to help with some thoughts ... and I am truly am sorry.
I am sure that together you will soon figure out what is best.

WOW!!! MiraB ... such delicious eye candy to start my day with!

Do I sense that the quilt and bedrunner is another for Ronald McD?
Will make for a nice and cheery welcoming in a room for families during such a difficult time in their lives.

I can't help but smile when I see each of those little girls. Keep showing us as you produce more! What about making all, then use different ones on each of the two quilts? That way the girls can each have fun seeing what the other has on her quilt. Yet the quilts have the sameness in how you finish them. Perhaps is there one block where there are two girls together? That one would be good in both quilts to symbolize their close friendship.

Some questions about bed runners ..... I don't "get" them!!!!
So please educate me!!! :)
Are they totally decorative? Is there a functional reason?
What size should they be?
(translation ... despite not "getting them" ... I have some fabric that I am contemplating using for one!)

Alas! The sun IS shining ... the rain has gone (I think! I hope!)
And that rain has taken its toll on our coloured leaves ... many came a-tumbling with the rain and winds. :(

QuiltingNinaSue 10-08-2013 06:46 AM

QuiltE, a bed runner is for decoration, about 23 inches tall, and the width of a bed quilt, I believe...I have several almost ready for people who cared for FIL.

Maytag man cannot come until mid or late afternoon. Must run for Ice and see what we can save with ice chests.

Honchey, there are new ideas in a 'fix' for knees to avoid replacement....in Vail, Co., they draw your blood, mix it with other liquids and replace the mass to keep the bone cushioned, away from bone against bone...costs run about $1000. but it has worked with my SIL who still rides horses.

dublb 10-08-2013 06:51 AM

QE I always understood that a bed runner was ta keep your feet warm if ya don't like ta have extra covers & just want ta keep your feet warmer.

dublb 10-08-2013 06:53 AM

Oh Sue that sounds like it would help so much ta keep BOB from grindin'.
