I've surfaced for a short while :) The procedure went well though the doctor said he will see me again very soon :( It wasn't too painful. This afternoon I did feel quite well but tonight I started to feel bad, kidney hurts like ***, colddddddddddddddd but no fever :) So I took some painkillers and will call it a day now. One more quilt on my bed to keep me warm tonight and tomorrow is another day!
Thanks my friends for all the well wishes and concerns.
You can send your blocks for an approval stamp, I do know what I'm saying - I hope :D :D

Short update on Bram: still the same, no news.

GGal, Your quilts are so pretty...I like the offset scrappy one...Hmmmm..

Anael, thats one procedure I have have not endured...I'm glad it wasn't too bad for you..

In the mini quilt book they have a kaleidoscope and because the scraps are so little I was wondering if placing them anyway they will fit will there be a problem with bias cut sides???

Hi, ladies. Managed a day off work today--doc went to a seminar and is going again tomorrow--Yay!! FARTing tomorrow. Will hit the LQS that gives the birthday discount and then to pick up my Sweet 16--finally. It's been to LQS, California, home LQS, parts from California, and finally home tomorrow.

I'm so sorry everyone is having so many physical problems. It's almost the end of the year; can we hope and pray that 2014 will be kinder to us all?

Yinz have posted so many beautiful quilts and projects--I love them all and wish I would have had the time to comment individually but please know I love them and appreciate you posting them. It's so nice to come home and look at them.

Got to the Bat Cave for a few hours today to finish up SYE #4 so hope to get it posted on the week-end. Anne, I've done the Kaleidoscope block, paper pieced, and I did not worry about the bias. The paper and then the seams stabilize it enough. Mine wasn't a mini and I didn't get any stretching or distortion so I'm sure it wouldn't matter especially in a mini.

Have a good evening everyone. Keep your fingers crossed that we hire someone soon so I can re-retire. Otherwise I'm going to be spotted running naked through the neighborhood singing Jimi Hendrix tunes!!!

Thank you everyone, yesterday at patchwork we had a new member (who has a longarm, my new best friend:D) she was teaching everyone the quilt as your go reversible lob cabin block. We had 28 ladies turn up and there was 26 machine humming away. Yet on charity sew day we will be lucky to have 6 ladies turn up with machines and everyone else will have knitting or hand applique they are working on, they will sit with their heads down hoping nobody talks to them. So frustrating:mad:

Carriem will be thinking of you leading up to your shoulder surgery, you have such a wonderful family, you will be pampered as you recover.

QuiltE I am only giving one set to my club as part of the 10 sets we agreed to contribute, the others will go directly to the club who is organising this project. A personal contribution from me.

GGal I am being very careful with my shoulder and am quickly learning what hurts the most. Straight sewing is not a problem, machine embroidery seems to be painful, I think that it is the amount of thread changes I do as the arm is raised up and down a lot. Paper Piecing also hurts as I am using the left arm to trim with the rotary cutter and quilting I am only doing in short bursts of an hours (or two):o I love your quilts, the colours in your A4A are beautiful and the scrappy is very interesting, love the sashing treatment, very unique.

Oksewglad - white frosting makes me laugh, it is 9am here and I am starting to perspire, it rained on Thursday night so the humidity level has started to rise, the air conditioner will be turned on about 11, for now the ceilings fans are on full force:D Yummy pies in the oven, lemon meringue is one of my all time favourites..

Honchey what brand of new embroidery machine did you get, I just had new gears put in my Pfaff 4.0 CV cost me $400 to have the machine fixed.. I am seriously thinking that my next embroidery machine may be a multi needle one (don't tell DH)

Anael I hope you are feeling better soon, lots of quilts come in handy sometimes:thumbup:

JanRN I now have visions of you running naked through the streets in my head, they had better employ someone, anyone, everyone, reallll soooooooonnn:D:D:D:D:D

I sewed three more rows on my mini stars quilt last night, gee its hard to get a photo and not get the design wall in the pic:D Now I am off to the cave to do a little more quilting on my Tweet quilt. Have a great day everyone

Wow, lost of things going on = had tons of messages to read through.

We had a great camping trip. Weather was warm (80's) in the afternoons. Everyone was pleased with our first attempt at hosting the rally. Our breakfasts went well, that was what my friend and I was most worried about. Glad that is over for two years!

Anael - so sorry Bram is still having his vomiting problem! Poor Baby!

Mirabelle - those are great quilts. I just love the Crazy Quilt design one! Such bright, beautiful colors!

QNS & Mirabelle- that MB is wonderful. It looks great with your other blocks QNS!

Carrie - sorry you have to have surgery, but know you will be so happy to get your shoulder fixed!

Anael - hope your feeling better today!

QuiltE - glad you are feeling better! Must have picked up a 24 hr bug, I hear they are going around.

Hi Mirabelle,,I work for Husqvarna Viking part time.. The manager calls me in when they need me.The Gallery is located in a Joann's Fabric store... I have a Designer Diamond & the Designer SE...They are both sewing & embroidery machines..The machine I learned a new lesson on is the Designer Diamond Royale that is in the store...I don't need another embroidery machine..I also have a Viking 850 (sewing) a Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0 (sewing) and a little Janome Platinum 720 that I travel with...some stay in NC...the Pfaff & Diamond are here in NJ...
Jan, Viking also has a Platinum sit down quilter which is probably like the Sweet 16...this new quilter has me tempted... Our Gallery won't have this one in the store....Only the larger stores will have it for demos...
So many machines and so little sewing:D:D..

JeanieG 10-17-2013 06:47 PM

Honchey - it would be so much fun to "play" with those machines! Sounds like a great part time job, I'd love something like that, I think!!!

oksewglad 10-17-2013 07:15 PM

I can't get over how much mirabelle gets accomplished. Love the little stars.
Honchey I don't think it matters with that kaleidoscope block--you know how to starch :D so give the fabric that paper stiffness and the fabric won't stretch out of shape!
I'm whipped--on my feet for 4 straight hours--made 6 one gallon batches of gravy tonight--don't think I want to even eat the stuff ever again. Night all.

Honchey 10-17-2013 07:35 PM

Yes, the trouble is the darn customers get in between my "fun" play time :D
