Welcome to the board, Delphina. I'm new to this thread, but have been around the board for a while and really like the camaraderie. If you are so inclined, how about joining us on the mystery train ride? Judy, our fearless leader, takes us through making a quilt in easy steps. http://www.quiltingboard.com/blocks-...w-t285033.html
Even if you decide not to make a quilt, hanging around the "train" will introduce you to many folks on the board. |
AND, you can always save her clues and go back sometime and make the Mystery.
|
Thanks I will jump on that train.

Well I got my block done, and it came out really cute-but I can't get the pic to post. but it's really cute can't wait for the next one.

Oh pretty, Kathryn. I'm so glad everyone is enjoying this..

Still haven't made my block but there is a heck of a good reason. My nephew's pregnant was airlifted here to the cities Sunday morning, my sister, nephew and Kelsey's mother were 4 hours behind. My dd and I went to be with her till immediate family arrived. On Friday they were told their baby would have only a very small time to live. You can imagine our agony and fears for Kelsey as we sat with her while they explained what would happen on his passing. Dad made it here and they took her in immediately for a c- section. Baby Liam was born and cried immediately. He is alive, doctors are still amazed but his little chest has to grow or it will be lethal. Lots of joy and tears being shed.

prayers to them all! God is awesome Little Liam must be a fighter !!

AAAWWW Terri, I am so sorry for your pain. Prayers going up for you and yours. This is your block, so work it when you can. Blessings.

Thanks Kassaundra! I have decided to make two blocks each month, using different fabrics from a coordinated FQ pack I've had for some plus some blenders from my stash. At year's end I will have enough for a 4 block x 6 block lap quilt (probably with small sashing between blocks). Here are both January blocks together:

Beautiful blocks. I may have to do this one too.

Libster & Petuniaflowers, would love to have you join in. Please read the 1st page and let me know if you want in. Welcome. Just remember to post photos of your block. Chasezzz, very nice, like the color combos..

Thought I would try this block, because it's red, white and blue I may turn this into a table runner for July. Just need to make a few more blocks.

MGW, I love those fabrics! But I usually love all things Southwestern! lol I'm cutting my fabrics right now! I was going to use Pink and Brown since I was in a swap a long time ago and have tons of strips and accent fabrics. But have decided to use florals, I have tons from another swap so will be east to add fabrics as needed! I'll be posting mine soon!

finally got my block done all from scrap box. need to work on my point set. but not bad for a newbie
|
I like your block. Purple is my favorite color.
|
Tomara, your block is very pretty. There are no 'quilt police' here, just quilters ready to help. We were all 'newbies' at one time, the more you make, the better you will get. Keeping the points are a bit tricky, what I've found is, make sure you have a 1/4" from end of point to raw edge. Sometimes you can fudge a bit on the seam, like doing a 'scant' 1/4", so that your point will show. You'll get better as you go..
|
Libster I recognize your floral fabric, are you going to sash it and add it to your boom blocks.
think I have decided to use yellow and blues. Have a lot that needs to be used up |
Tomara, kudos for jumping in as a newbie. Practice makes perfect for sure. Do you use any sizing (near the starch in the laundry isle)? I always use it especially when sewing angles, it helps to stablize the fabrics while you are sewing.

Thanks! I'm trying to recondition myself to like orange. I think it's beginning to grow on me a little bit.

I think you did great! Love the colors! Just keep on, you'll start to really love it as you go along. Always accept the challenge and mistakes are the way we learn!

Oh goodness klaus I decided to use my florals also and your blue floral is the first one I grabbed. Couldn't find the right shade of blue and switched to the daffodils.

Love the color of yellow. Love flowers too
|
terriamn, I like how you did yours. I should of put the flowers in the center too. I plan on making more so I'll do that next time.
|
Really nice choices ladies! I can't wait to see the next one. :)
|
Hi Karen. Love your yellow/blue flower fabric! You can always 'remove' your centre blue square and replace it with flower fabric. I've had to do that before... Have fun!! xJx
