Hi Rhonda....this is what I did with Nellie. I think it's so cute. Now I have to get some UFO's finished. They just need quilted and binded, except for a baby quilt I need to get done. Soon. Then I can get to getting the sampler quilt together.

Thanks guys, and I think it's a not so good picture, but it's as good as I have. But yeah I like seeing who I'm talking to also.

BTW I deserved every single white hair I have. Lol, and it is whiter than the picture looks.

I've just been reading through this thread. Wow Katie, your quilt is going to be great! I am impressed and am wishing I had found and started this link at the beginning with you.

Oh, and we don't want to know what the rest of my room looks like since I had so much, STUFF, on the bed. LOL

Oh yes, there are so many patterns. I didn't do them in order either because I started a month or 6 weeks later. I just love the blocks. You can pick and choose which ones you want. Give them a try, and post your pictures when you get one done. I'm waiting for all the other people who are going to start after Christmas. So you would be right there with them.

Mary M 01-15-2011 11:58 AM

Those blocks are gorgeous and using my favorite colors. Want to see this when it is done!

I'm getting closer to done....I've actually cut the batting, I want to do a Quilt as you go, but have one ahead of this one to learn and practice on. would rather make a mess of my messy, wacky, practice quilt than this sampler. So it will be coming.

cjomomma 01-15-2011 12:58 PM

I have been working on Lilly today but I don't think I'm gonna get it done. I'm not feeling too well this afternoon. Katie I can't wait to see your quilt when it's done.

klgreene 01-15-2011 01:26 PM

Glad you've started it. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold so don't feel great. Would like to just crawl in bed and watch TV. But it's my B-day today. I'm 36, hhehehehe yeah right. And I'm going out to dinner with DH and SIL and BIL. Hope you are feeling better CJ. I know I just can't do much of nothing when I don't feel good. And I do't have "little man" to take care of.

Rhonda 01-15-2011 03:18 PM

Happy Birthday Katie!! Hope you enjoy your dinner!
I've been down in bed sick too. Had a really bad night last night and today just not the best. It's that time of the year I guess for lots of sickness.

CJ I'm happy to see you have started working on the quilt blocks. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Happy Birthday!! I went to the Dr. and I have an upper respiratory infection. I haven't felt good for days but today it hit me hard. Little man is sick too with the same thing. So no rest for me.

Here is Lilly from week 13.

I didn't do a very good job but I am happy with her. I almost didn't show her. LOL!! The 1 thing I learned while peicing her is to be patient and don't sew while I am sick because I don't pay attention as well as I should. That seam ripper of mine has a new name. The SOB just wanted to be my best friend.

CJ it looks pretty good to me! When you get it all tucked into the quilt you will think it looks terrific too!

Are you feeling any better yet then? I had some kind of sleeping thing again where I couldn't come up out of sleep and it has hung on. Today is better. I can function again. I hate to be sick. Especially when I know I have things I need to get done. But the upside is as I work at home I can pick it up and put it down when I feel like it. I don't have anyone to answer to.

I hope you got to feeling better. This stuff is the pits.
I think I am gonna go sit in the couch and watch tv and snuggle with Elijah.
After I do a little show and tell. LOL!!

Aahh this too will pass. It will go away soon! Hang in there Carrie!! I've been fighting bronchitis for about a month now. It went away and then came back again. I feel for you with everyone sick.

Katie and CJ both do a great job on these don't they?

klgreene 01-17-2011 10:46 AM

Ok, still sick, CJ you started it....lol, I want to quilt so bad today, but I know if I do I'll just make a mess of it, so I will just have to be patient. Maybe later today I can pull out fabric for what I want to work on and that may get me going. As for now, I'm going to go eat a bagel and crawl in my soft fleece sheets. And CJ I didn't see your block before, brain dead. I like to bright colors. You did a good just. Just keep on keeping on!

I know this thread is for Rhonda's Sampler Quilt Along but...I wanted to share with all of you how beautiful and elegant Rhonda's creations can be when using just one block and laying them out side by side.
In the picture shown, I used the "Lilly" block Also, as you can see, when the block is placed side by side it forms a secondary pattern.
This quilt is a WIP. This is only the first two rows. The finished quilt size will be 60"W X 84"L

Rhonda I love your cut-down method! It is very easy and precise.

pamesue 01-25-2011 02:13 PM

love them all

tstransky 01-25-2011 03:30 PM

Thank you so much for the nice comment. I would like to take the credit for the choice in fabric but...again, that would be Rhonda's color layout of the block.

I would like to make Rhonda's Bookmarks next if I can find the 1 1/4 inch template. I think it would be a fun little project and allow that little extra break after making big quilts...lol.

klgreene 01-25-2011 04:47 PM

WOW I just told a friend that I would make her a wallhanging or large mini. But I'm not crazy about her color scheme. Dark and light Browns/beiges with bright red. This would be a great quilt to make for her. Which blocks would you make the red Rhonda. The yellow or green?
