"Little House on the Prarie"

It was taken from the books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder-I love the episode where half-pint goes to the mountains to ask God to give her little brother(who died) back to her Ma and Pa-Ernest Borgnine played God-it was a real tear jerker

I read all of the books when I was much, much younger! We watched the show too. I've always enjoyed it. Another good show along those lines that pre-dates Little House is the Waltons. I loved that one too when I was growing up!

My DH and I watch Little House and the Waltons, and recently discovered a new one on INSP called Wind at My Back that is set in the depression time in Canada but with good morals and close family ties as well as conflicts. These are great shows compared to whats on most channels these days. They are refreshing.

I watched the show as a teenager, read the books several times. Still have my collection at 50. AND ended up moving from Florida to Vermont then to North Country of New York (above the Adirondacks before you get to Cananda) and live 5 miles down the road from the Almanzo Wilder Farm. This where Farmer Boy took place. The original house burnt down however it was rebuilt and is supposed to be exactly as his childhood home was. Very interesting. We got married there, under the apple trees, in 1997.

I grew up with a large family,10 girls and 7 boys, and on monday night we had to be real good to be able to watch little house and my favorite episode was when Laura put apples in her dress to make her chest look bigger, and had to go to the chalk board and they fell out.
