Christmas is a wonderful time of the year! A time for family and friends, of hugs and kisses and happy to just spend time with them. There will be no decorating or gifts here. And I will spend it alone this year. What family I have live too far away, and hubby will be on the road. Yes the economy is bad even for those working, but really Christmas is not about spending maoney for gifts anyway! I will enjoy looking at those who did put up decs as I walk to the p.o. or a nearby store, and Wish all a good Holiday! But in truth my present to all and on the board is I WISH YOU ALL A BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND MAY ALL YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS COME TRUE!!

You are so right! It gets crazy this time of year and the stress we feel is usually self-imposed. Let's not do that to ourselves!

One phenomenon I've discovered this year is the "ornament exchange". Much less stress than a gift exchange, and everyone loves ornaments, esp. handmade ones. They don't take much time or money. Great for office parties, or friends or whoever you gather with at Christmas.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

I am much calmer this year than I have ever been by not worrying about trivial things. I think it is because I started sewing two months ago and fell in love with yet another hobby!!!
I'm only doing about 1/3 of the usual decorating, baking, etc...we are have 32 people here on Saturday also.

Boy, you said a mouthful. Now we can all relax and enjoy the holidays and what we are doing. If something doesn't get done, it will sooner or later.

Gifts are only for the grand children still in school. I will probably be by myself this year but I really don't mind. I have my quilting to keep me warm and occupied. I may sound bitter but I REALLY wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and may God bless you all. Marge
Marge - I wish you a peaceful Christmas, and know that your lost loved ones are still in your heart. I will think of you on Christmas day.

Love this thread. I have cut back to a tree, and a door wreath. Kids are gone so it is just for DH and cats. I make gifts for those close in my life. I do start in June on the ornaments but if I start to run short on time, I clip the list from the bottom up.

Since this is the off years and the kids don't come home, we have dinner reservations at the Chart house.
