I save all the patterns too in a special folder on my computer so I know right where they are. I also save photos of quilts I like and would like to make.

At last count I had over 2000 free patterns. I have them sorted by size, style, purpose, etc... I used to place them in sheet protectors and place in binders. Now I burn them to CD's and pront off as need. This is just quilt/sewing patterns. Embroidery patterns are another that I use this system for. CD's take up a lot less room so I have now have more shelf space for books and mags. :~)

There is a small free program on the internet ... "cutepdf" ... instead of printing everything on paper, this program 'save' your file as a pdf.
Works like a charm!
what happens if your computer crashes ? how to you convert to pdf if you don't use this program ?

I'd say you're in good company :-D I do the same and save them to my computer. I have a folder just for quilt patterns.

You're not alone, I do the same thing. I save mine to a memory stick. I wonder how many more I can get on it. Hope it doesn't go bad.

I back my puter everyonce in a while to a portable hard drive so, I dont worry about computer crashing. I use a simular program to create free patterns and other things of interest into PDF files..

No, not alone! I usually save mine to a word document though.
