The two low entry bikes I'm looking at are crank forward - one more than the other. The ads say you can put your feet down from the seat. Both are Schwinns, which worries me a little as I know they make some for the big box stores that i wouldn't want. But these are more than double those prices, so that should mean something. I wish the Specialized on sale at the bike shop wasn't a large size. I also wish the store wasn't right down town. If I test ride one of theirs, I'd like a little privacy. Leon, that Giant looks interesting.

Thanks! I did not get to ride much last summer due to some neck issues. I could not turn my head! Diagnosed with arthritus , some PT and regular visits to the chiropractor I am good to go! Now if the windy season would ease up......

IrishRose, head to a professional bike shop and let them assist you. Let them FIT you and take a test drive. Ask them about a pre-owned bike too. Likely people are upgrading since spring has arrived.

BTW for those considering conventional adult trikes; be aware their is a learning curve on those. Road surface irregularities will steer the trike. Also, if you turn too quickly they will iift the inside wheel. It can dump a rider.

That is why I am considering a bike when I have a nice Sun trike. It reminds me of riding a large horse as it goes over uneven pavement. My son, who purchased it, told me today to sell it and put the money toward the bike. Never! It certainly has it uses, but cruising isn't one.
