I have a prescription med supplement along with Medicare. I have used the GoodRX coupons. I drug I am using which was $5 last year jumped to $220 at the "preferred pharmacy". . But when using the GoodRX coupon, I could not apply the $ amount against my deductible or the price went from $ 67 to $ 146. What's up with that ?

I've used it several times. We have insurance but there is a $195 deductible on some meds. The last one I needed my ins. wanted over $200 for a bottle that contains about a teaspoon of medication. I checked Good RX and got it for $34. It pays to check what your ins will charge then check Good Rx. The price can be much different.

Yes, we use Good RX for my presc's. They paid 60% on one big one, and the others are $4.00 so not much chance of paying anything on them.
We use Walmart Neighborhood RX, and they keep it stored, and are very good to try however many cards you have many cards you have, and give you the best price.
I understand that the company that makes the drug is who honors the price on Good RX.
Good luck~!

I tried using Good RX once and was told Medicare does not accept these coupons. Had to fill a prescription that would have cost me $250 (one time only). My Medicare/Humana plan cut that to $159. Luckily Walgreens was able to cut it down to $129.

I used to work as a pharmacy tech and unless things have changed GoodRx works outside of your normal insurance. The pharmacy has your insurance set as a default payer for your meds, but you can ask them to run your prescription as "cash" or with a GoodRx third party payer - leaving your regular insurance out of the pay loop entirely. (Which is why that Rx would not count toward your deductible.)
We could not use drug manufacturer's coupons with Medicare because in that instance both the coupon third party payer and Medicare get billed as secondary and primary insurers and that is prohibited by the federal government due to the contracts Medicare has entered into with drug companies. Those manufacturer's coupons are the ones you see advertised as "assistance with copay" for brand name drugs.

I used it for an Rx for DH that wasn't covered by his insurance. Saved about $60 on 6 pills.
I have no idea what company is behind it and, at first, thought it was a scam. But the pharmacy (WalMart) accepted it readily. I'm a believer now.
