Wow, it is so nice to see so many new people joining our group. Think of all the weight we're losing - add them up and we've lost a whole person - or two or three. I'll have to go back and redo some of our old Tuesday tips - to help them out and refresh all our minds. Here's one that comes to mind and is a mid-week reminder for a Satisfying Saturday - use a smaller plate for your main meal. The normal serving on that plate will look larger to your mind's eye and you will feel fuller faster. Till Tuesday ...

    I'm in for August.
Congrats Pat! All that cycling paid off.
It's great to have so many new people joining
I am quilting a top I made a few years ago. It is for a wedding a week from today. Looks like I don't have anything in my stash to use for binding. That stinks. I was hoping to use the backing fabric for a self binding but it doesn't look good. For the quilting I am using my walking foot and making curvy lines. It is fun and fast plus I really like the way it looks. I will be doing this type of quilting again. I'll post a pic when I get it finished.

Congrats, Meanmom! Yes, your cycling really paid off.

Confession of an emotional eater: I've had a really stressful couple of days. Can you say teenager??? After a particularly stressful event I came home and made homemade brownies. I had not planned on making brownies that day. I then proceeded to eat about a fifth of the pan and added a (small) Dr. Pepper for good measure. I had just gone to yoga but my whole body ached and my back was tightening up, from the base of my skull to my tailbone. Usually, yoga helps my back and stress level tremendously. But that day I was just worse and worse after class was over. We did carry out for dinner that night (no way could I face cooking) and I got a salad. I didn't check the fat and calories, but in my mind at least I wasn't continuing the downfall.

Stress and teenagers add a lot to us and can make us loss control. You just have to remember where you want to be and how we are going to get there.

Atleast you didn't eat the whole pan of brownies which I have done in the past.

Thanks everyone. Yes the cycling has finally paid off. I am doing 80 to 100 miles a week in my spinning class, depending on how many times I go. I have had to adjust my calories up since I am burning so many. I was really getting depressed at not losing with all of my hard work. I really messed with my mind having to add so many calories. It worked. The batiks were also a huge incentive. I love batiks. My DS is here from Japan for the month and I have been having to cook all of his favorites and he keeps ordering late night pizza and other goodies.
Welcome to all the newbies. This is a good group. Lots of support and good ideas. Good luck and healthy eating.
