My children play with them. I got some from the resale store. They are nice for them to play with as they are small, easy to take along and feel nice. I think people also send them to deployed soldiers to hand out to children for PR. I think the residents from the nursing home might enjoy them too. I have teddy bears and a stuffed turtle (toy) in my bedroom. The privilidge of being female.

I kept mine for my grandkids. I set up a small libray in my home and when they come over they get to take a book home each week with a beanie baby that I matched up to my books that go with the story. I even made a bag for them to carry their book in.

It was so thoughtful of you to remember the folks in the nursing home. My grandmother always had a baby doll clutched to her chest. She told me he was a good baby, didn't cry, and didn't mess up his clothes. haha My grandmother had Alzhimers. (I know, I don't know how to spell it).

My son collected them when he was young. It was a fun thing that we did together, would get up early and stand in line for hours....made some good memories. Now they are all locked in the Beanie "casket" (storage bin) and he won't let me get rid of them, but doesn't want them either!!

From day one when my kids moved out on their own I enforced the Get or Forget rule when I found stuff they left behind. I have mailed boxes of childhood toys, etc. to them when they say Mom I'll get it later, I'm in a hurry right now.

I have a collection of the sheep beanies...they live in my sewing room most of the year, and visit the living room at Easter time/spring. My boys each have bins of beanies...but they are grown now and the bins are still here. Maybe some day they will let me know what they want me to do with them...keep saving for future grandkids...or giving away...a nursing home is a great idea.

Christmas is coming. I bet Toys For Tots or the Salvation Toy Drive would be glad to get them. You could always try them on ebay?

Our church participates in the "shoe box" program for Christmas and will pack little toys like the Beanie Babies into the shoe box.
