It took 4 tries but I got logged in.

As someone else mentioned I like the "read new Messages since my last visit" feature

My preference is the old format, but I can adjust. I have DSL so speed hasn't been an issue, except for adding pictures to share.

I do keep bookmarks and check them now and then

The other thing I noticed is on this forum I can scroll down as I reply and see what else is written on the same page. (review message feature) I cannot tell you how many times I have rechecked what was written before I submitted my response. I would love to see that on the new forum.

I'm not a fan of the "pink" color

I do appreciate all the work you do to keep this board up and running smoothly

I am another that goes back and checks PM's for addresses. Though I am not near 200, I can clean them up occasionally so I don't get that many stored in there

Had no trouble logging in. Would really like to keep My Bookmarks at top of page. I skimmed through the previous messages and didn't see anything about the help button.

Sorry, I don't like the change. The text is so big, and I think I'll get a headach from looking at it. I'll just have to get use to it. Will we be able to save our bookmarks?

down at the bottom of your screen in the right hand corner is a little icon that probably says 100%....click on the down arrow next to it and you can change the font size  :D

That's probably because I erased and re-uploaded the new database today. So your changes were erased. Everything was copied from the old database (the current one on this site).
In case anyone else has a similar problem, I solved mine. It was just that Windows was "remembering" the temporary password. I just altered it also in the prompt login box when the dots automatically appear after entering your name.

Thanks for all your work Admin!

Will everything (the posts/threads) that is "old" transfer over to the "new"?
Yes.

Is it too hard to put the signature line over to the left?
It makes more logical sense for reading, and seems to be easier to read.
and, when special people put their little lively critters in their signature line, they are very distracting ...
I see them in the old format, but they aren't like RIGHT IN MY FACE ...!
(They seem so frantic, stuck over there like that)
Don't ask ... it might just be a "me" thing ...
but, if it isn't too much trouble, please put the signatures to the left/
THank you <wave>

From a technical stand point it's not hard at all.
But I'm not sure if placing signatures on the left side would be good for usability.

The whole point of moving them to the right is to get them out of your sight and make it easier to follow threads by scanning the posts downward.

After all, how many times can you read the same set of signatures over and over before it gets annoying?

When you encounter a new user (or a new signature), you'll probably notice it and read it. But when constantly conversing with the same set of people, you would probably just skip over their signatures, since you've read them many times before.

If the signatures are on the right-hand side, it makes it easier to skip over them to the next post in the thread.

That's why placing the signatures on the right side seems like a good idea to me.

Maybe I'm mistaking.

Is there room for a FAQ section in the future? There are certain topics (cutting strips, setting triangles, hst's, and how-to navigate the site) that get addressed at least once a month, and it would be nice if there was a locked reference section.

Not on the top of the list, or even the middle, but wanted to plant the seed.
