In research books I always use post-its with comments on them. For my Bibles I like ribbons - flat and long enough to hang out - several per Bible. Novels get whatever is close to hand but novels are being replaced by Kindle and bookmarks are no longer needed.

Oo--Kindle will never ever replace my books. Nope. I like turning real pages. lol Okay--I'll see what I can add that's simple. Thanks for the replies.

Thank you for all the bookmark ideas. maxnme01, could you post a picture of your ribbon bookmark? They sound so cute.

Ditto. I'm really picky about my bookmarks (unlike my DH who will mark a book with ANYTHING or my DD who will ONLY use photographs to mark her many books). I like them nice & wide & plain. But that's just my opinion.

I like book marks with a cord and something on the end to hang out of the book. However, the ones I have with tassels -- the tassels eventually come apart.

Ribbons and stuff are fine but anything that makes the bookmark too heavy doesn't work. Some one gave me a beautiful bookmark but it was so heavy, it kept falling out of the book.

I love your bookmarks, but I love your thoughtfulness behind them. I am sure your bookmarks will be cherished for many years. As a retired teacher, I thank you for your dedication to and compassion for "our" students.
