My sister and I had total care of our Mom before she passed. (7 brothers and sils who wouldn't do a thing). We were so mentally and emotionally exhausted from caring for her and nasty family issues that it has taken us a full 2 years to get our lives back on an even keel. Would we do it again? Absolutely! I promised my Dad and her that she would never go to a nursing home and thank God, we were able to keep that promise. We have the comfort of knowing that we did everything we possibly could for her. Our so called brothers are living with their guilt.

yep, I helped dad when he was alive, then had mom for 3 yrs, then just finished with my sister who died in March from multiplemyeloma, bone marrow cancer, she was only 60 yrs old. Gave the last 8 yrs of my life for my sister would do it all over again. Have bad health myself, sister cried and said whos gonna help you, Im not gonna be here.. and I said They will be provided when time comes. miss them all and yes it took me good while after each died to get life back on course.
