CHOOSING A MATTRESS
#21
I asked the same question here just a few weeks back...and we ended up buying a latex mattress. We've only had it just over a week so it's early days but so far we love it. The first morning I got up without the usual back pain that I've had for the last few years..yay! I still have some stiffness but it's greatly improved to what it was. Our's is classed as a medium and there's no pillow top on it and we like it just like that. We have to turn it for even wear and we were told to also make sure we use the middle of the bed at times...like if you got to bed and read :)
Good luck with your mattress hunting..there's just too many choices out there..lol.

We had a pillow top mattress and hated it. DD loved it so she has it. It was so hot to sleep on we couldn't stand it. We now have a Sterns and Foster, it is OK but it is only 7 years old and it is shot. It has major dips in it and we could't get them to honor the warranty. They say the dips have to be over and inch deep and they are but we can't get them to do anything about it. It is also one sided and can't be flipped so I feel this makes it not last as long. I am very dissatisfied in everything I have looked at. If anyone finds anything good I would love info.

Sears has a 50%+ sale on mattresses going on that started Friday and will run through July 4th.....We are in the market for a new bed too.....FYI...Having done some research on consumer's reports....they say you should never pay sticker price for a bed. They will negotiate with you if you do your research and make a reasonable offer. My friend just did the mattress buying project....she went to several stores to try them out, found the one she liked, then ordered it online direct from the factory and got it half off, with free bed frame and delivery. I have checked the one we want to buy and Sears discounted prices compare favorably to the online price, though we would still have to pay State tax. Hope one of these tips helps in your search.

After 5 back surgeries, including a spinal fusion gone bad, I was sleeping 3 to 4 hrs a night total on a good night. We bought a Temper-pedic last fall. Yes, they are expensive, but most places will run a 5 yr no interest special at some time. Even my teenagers lay on it and say "ahhhhh. Can't I just lay in here." It absolutely holds it shape and is WONDERFUL. We tried 4 other brands at relatives and our house. This is the ONLY mattress we will get. Luv, Luv it. I now sleep soundly even on my worst nights.

We got a sleep number bed; sort of a one-size-fits-all! It is wonderful - where the back and shoulders ached before - now a good night's sleep can be had and wake up to very few aches and pains like the ones before - have tried most of them.... and then decided to try this. The answer to our problems..

We had a pillow top that we didn't care for. Went to Overstock and bought a 3" Serta Memory Foam for about $125.00 with $2.95 shipping (Cal King). Loved it and that was 6 yrs ago and it's still holding up. Bought one for parents-they loved it. Sis bought one-she loved it.
All in all, it makes the mattress a total of 14" high so I just make sure to buy deep pocket sheets.
