I am 72 and children grown and grandkids also grown. I bought a "slim" tree about 6" tall from someone on Craig's list and it is perfect. Easy to put up, less decorations, doesn't take up much room. I love the holidays and the tree so this works for me. Anything worthwhile takes time so you just have to bite the bullet and do it. Merry Christmas.

So do I. So I guess I do the tree more for myself than for others--I love them. However, over the years the tree has gotten smaller and smaller as the family got bigger and bigger (both in numbers and the size of the children!

I love Christmas trees. I put up one 7 1/2 foot one, six 4 to 5 foot ones, and one wall tree this year, and took a 3 1/2 foot one to our elderly neighbor . As long as I can move I will put up a tree!!

yes I still do. But I downsized to a smaller tree. My children weren't so pleased. I used to have a 6 ft tree that roated it was beautiful. Now I have a 4 ft table tree. alot easier for me. They got over it.

I have done until this year. DH passed away August. All I did this year was put candles in living room windows and a wreath on the door. Maybe next year I will decorate again. Miss my nativity but don't have the energy to make numerous trips to basement to bring it all up.

Hi Donna: One of my happiest memories/ traditions is turning off all the living room lights, then laying down all cozy and enjoying the lights of the tree. (Are we related?!!) Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to you. Penny in K'zoo.

I always will. I grew up in a family that loved Christmas. One of my daughters told me once how special I made Christmas for them even when we were very poor. It was because my parents made Christmas special as I was growing up. Even though we live in our RV, we have a little tree with little ornaments and I put my Native American nativity up also. I have a huge (Like 20 large tubs) angel collection that is in storage for when we stop RVing.

We downsized the tree three years ago because it was just too hard for me to decorate anymore. We have a 4 foot tree and and I bought new handblown crystal ornaments for it and the tree is pre-lit with white lights. I hang stockings and do the mantle, wreaths outside and inside, so the house looks nice. I don't put out all the little things anymore, just a couple special ones. Prior to getting the small tree, I had a tree that was completley covered with all handmade ornaments. Lots of lace, flowers, butterflies etc. I had over two hundred that I made. Now they are all in a box. But as long as I can, there will be a tree here, and if I can't do it, then I'll call in the troops!!
