My entire house has laminate flooring. I was told to never use anything with soap or detergent in it. I normally use a squirt bottle with vinegar water in it or I use Bruce Laminate Floor cleaner. I vacuum first.

I've heard that, too, so I'm hesitant to use anything harsh on it. I don't use a lot of things because of the ammonia either. I'm not sure if it's harmful to laminate, but it can be kind of harsh so I avoid it.

I found several 'made for laminate floors' cleaners to leave them oily. now i use windex or 1/2 Cup vinagar in about a gallon of water. that's all. And the shine is fabul's. My cleaning lady says that most of her customers are using this now.

I add about a tbsp. of vinegar to my steam mop and use it on the "dust" setting. It cleans, doesn't streak and dries quickly.

I use a steam mop on mine. No streaks and nothing wet. The steam dries instantly. The first dozen times you use steam it will streak until the floor has nothing left of other cleaners on the floor. My floors shine.

What kind of steam mop do you recommend? Does it also work well on maple hardwood?
