My recipe is simple......

A head of cabbage
1 lb ground pork
1 lb ground turkey meat
1 cup rice
favorite seasonings (I use Mrs. Dash (garlic and herb), creole seasoning and garlic powder.
4 or 5 8 oz. cans of Contidina tomato sauce.
mix the pork, turkey and rice along with the seasonings in a bowl.

Take the core out of the cabbage and place in a bowl with a little water in the microwave for about 10 minutes or so. This softens the cabbage leaves up a bit to work with.

Arrange the rolls in a pan, I normally use a lasagna pan. Pour the tomato sauce over the rolls, sprinkle on some seasonings, place in a 350 degree oven for about 2 hours. Check about every half hour and add sauce as needed.

For me it is mostly the texture. And then is the flavor. And the appearance...and ....and....

We ate it and I was right. It was disgusting. My DD and DH loved it tho so I guess it wasn't a total failure. I just filled up on mashed potatoes :D

I used my crockpot yesterday for pork roast. I cook it till it tears apart easily, then I mix the meat with BBQ sauce and make Shredded Pork Sandwiches....YUM!

I love the idea of putting meatloaf under the broiler!!!! I'll try that next time!!

I never cared for meatloaf until I tried Paula Deane's recipe. Wonderful and the top is some kind of good. If anyone is interested I can post the recipe here.
