I use to have migraines. I remember missing a whole evening. I know I went to Kmart because I found a bag of stuff. Other than that I have no memory of that whole evening. But migraines, at least mine did, had symptoms like a stroke does.
After my heart surgery I don't have migraines any more. .Hurray, Hurray.
    I hope you are well.

Before my transplant I was like that My kidneys were in Distress and I ended up with an Ammonia Overload through out my entire system Dr put me on Lasix and inceased my WATER intake to a gallon a day til the excess fluids were flushed out of my kidneys so they could function normally again IF you ever experience any thing like this again GO to the ER immediately Don't worry about $$-- YOU are more important If my MIL didn't take me when she did I would have died at any moment Please don't shrug off warning signs like these The risks are to high Let a Dr do the diagnosing he's better educated

that certainly is not normal-the doc should have at least sent you for an mri or cat scan-sounds like TIA to me-you do need to be medically worked up to find out what the problem is

Here is a quick guide to the symptoms of a stroke. And please, the next time you have an episode like that, call 911 or you may not be so lucky.

    REMEMBER FAST

F=Face--ask the person to smile. If one side of the face appears crooked or drooping this person may be having a stroke
A=Arms--ask the person to lift both of his or her arms in the air--if he or she has difficulty with one arm this too might be a sign that this person is having a stroke
S=Speech--ask the person to speak. If his or her words are slurred or they are unable to speak, they might be having a stroke
T=T is for time. If any of the above symptoms are present you must call 911 immediately in order to make sure that this person reaches the hospital FAST.

Please do some research into free or low cost medical treatment. There is help out there for those of us who don't have insurance. It may be just a migraine, but it could be something else that requires medication to control. Don't put your life at risk (or someone else's...what if this had happened while driving a car?)get treatment!

If this happens again, please go get yourself checked out..what happened is not normal...if it happens a second time, call 911 and you will be seen and tested...something has to have caused this to happen.

Hosta, I hope that you are feeling better and this never happens to you again. Your family must have been very frightened. I also live in the Maryland/Pennsylvania area and the last 3 weeks the heat and humidity here has been brutal. I know myself I don't feel well in all this heat, even inside with the air conditioner going. Plesse try to find a way to have some medical tests done. If it is blood pressure a very inexpensive pill can get that taken care of in most cases. It is so sad that in this country where so many have so much, that a person has to go without medical care and tests that they need. We need change in this country very badly. Good luck and please take care of yourself.
