I love daylilies, too, and have maybe 50 or so varieties. Show us some pictures of yours! Do you have any favorites?

I planted dayliles in the front of my house years ago, and decided I didn't want them there, every year I dig them up and move to the back yard, where they don't seem to like, but I still have them coming up in the front. This year I am moving them to my daughters yard. Bet they come up again.

Yes the deer love the daylilies, I have alot and only a couple got to bloom because the deer ate all of the stems down to the ground, I love to look at the deer they are so beautiful. But darn it they have eaten all of my flowers this year, especially my Lilies.......

I have a lot of daylilies too. I love them. I have bought them locally and many by mail order from all over the U.S. and they seem to love So. Cal. Different varieties bloom for varying lengths of time. I have bought some online. There are a lot of nurseries. I should separate mine more often, but if they get enough water, they just keep blooming. I don't have to do much to them.

I'm probably the only human being that can kill them. My friend gave me over twenty. The first year after I planted them, they almost all came back up, but only one bloomed. The second year, only four or five came up and again, only one bloomed (a different one this time). Probably won't have any next spring since we're in such a drought here in Texas, even though I am watering as much as I can afford.

I grow many daylilies. If you need more information on them, visit the web site of the American Hemerocallis Society at www.daylilies.org. Yours need to be divided every 2or 3 years to keep them blooming prolifically .Six weeks before first frost date is the latest they should be divided or planted. I have won a blue ribbon and several reds and yellow ribbon in my Daylily Club's annual flower show. The flowers in the show are strictly daylilies we raise. Check out the web site and check for a club in your area. I am in Region 12 which is the entire state of FL. My club is the Tampa Bay Daylily Society.
this is our clubs' website: http://www.bads.us/
