Guess I'm strange cuz I love Paula Dean. At least she is real. Watching her is like being in my own kitchen. Some of those guys are so fake. And who can afford some of the things they cook! Yeah I have Truffle oil and crap like that in my pantry. I want real food that the rest of us can cook. I miss Emeril. At least I learned something from him.

She couldn't believe people waited so long in cold weather for a signed cookbook.

I like Robin Miller also, she does quick fix meals that look really good and seems like she could be your next door neighbor.

There used to be an Italian guy named Mike Chiarello that had a show. His food looked delicious, but had ingredients I don't normally stock in my kitchen. Seemed like a wonderful guy with lots of great ideas.

I haven't watched the Food Network in a while, but those were some that stood out to me when I was watching it all the time.
Mike Chiarello is still on. He is on the Cooking Channel. I think thats him anyways. :) I do like Ina Garten. She is so down to earth. I wonder when she dies if I send her my name and address if she will give me her big huge glass canisters. I love those so much. And they are not cheap by no means. LOL.

No one mentioned Semi-Homemade. Sandy always has her kitchen dressed with her theme and her table-scape also matches. I would never go through all that hoopla, even for a party. Her recipes are pretty easy. Anyway, she makes it look easy. But the best thing on her show is the cocktail at the end of her show. Too bad I don't drink or I'd be trying them all.

I totally refuse to watch her anymore. And she always CRAMS way to much food in her mouth at one time, thats nasty and I always wait for her to choke. But I am sure that if she did, it would be edited out.
Now for the show Down Home with the Nealy's....OH PLEASE...get a motel room. I can't stand the way the talk on that show, to me its too "sexually oriented" but then again maybe its just me.
Same with Guy Fieri (spelling im sure is wrong). He crams TOO MUCH in his mouth also, but I come to expect that from men. But have you noticed how much JEWELRY he is now wearing....and its not anything small its all HUGE, look at the watch, OMG that watch face is as big as my hand is, and the gold chain he wears, that must weigh ten pounds. I call him "Wanna Be Mr.T" lol. If he would do away with some of that Jewelry, and wouldn't cram so much in his mouth he wouldn't be bad. I do watch him sometimes because I do like to see what kinds of foods are favorites all over the country on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
Now Rachel Ray, she drives me BONKERS. I like her recipes and I even have one of her cookbooks....BUT can you imagine how much MORE cooking she could get done if she didn't "talk with her hands". LOL But I watch her sometimes still.
Now for Ann Berreli (Secrets of a Restuarant Chef) am I the only one that has noticed that she is trying REALLY REALLY hard to act like Rachel Ray? I mean Rachel Ray coined EVOO and a few others, but This woman is now trying to coin some too...one I can think of right off is BTB=bring to boil....Oh well.
Hell's Kitchen....OH that show makes me want to REACH IN my TV and grab Chef Ramsey by the throat and squeeze it. He is so very disrespectful to those chefs it isnt even funny, and yes I do know that when they signed up for that show that they probably had to sign a waiver that they can't sue or something and allowing them to be treated that way. What a shame. And now they are doing a NEW REALITY show...what a surprise LOLOL..thats all thats on TV anymore. Called i think it is "Conviction Kitchen" or something like that. Its some chef and his wife hires convicts to work in his kitchen...Well THAT SHOW WILL NOT be watched on my Tv. For one, that man is trying to act like Chef Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen which is HORRIBLE and just the way that he talks to those people. Granted they have done wrong and I am sure they did their time for what they did, but they still DO NOT deserve to be treated that way. But then, thats my opinion.
    Deanna, you're a hoot!!!!I guess that's why I don't watch cooking shows!!!!!!!

Right on target! but all that wine? the butter? and we are trying to get back to eating right?? how can we when thesae people shove these buttermelting mouth watering(?) foods down our throats. Help us cook a good decent meal that is healthy! (y'all) hehehe)

and I don't thing GA or any other southern state has Y'ALL after practically each sentence.

and what about the long hair??

for goodness sake, put it in a bun, hairnet or something, I love long tresses, don't get me wrong! but hair in my food does not set right with me. enough venting I guess, but I do enjoy their recipies, just wish they were more healthier.

Just an FYI for those of you not in the South.....Paula Deen and the Neelys do not talk like most of us down here! They talk more like our older relatives---and since I'm near 50, older is more like 70's and 80's!

Here, here!! I say y'all also but just don't drag it out quite so much as Paula and the Neeleys do.
I love Ina and her recipes, but it seems that she entertains many gay? friends. lol
When the Neelys come on, I change the channel. I agree, get a room guys!
My hubby loves to watch Giada-cause of her low cut tops. He says: Now that baby can cook. I tell him that the really good cooks don't have to use their boobs. lol The higher the neckline- the better the cook, IMHO

I love Ina, but I watch these shows in quick spurts I turn on to see what they're making and sometimes stay and sometimes leave. I agree with Deanna:
Guy don't ever fall in the pool or your jewelry will drown you
Paula I can watch until her cackles grate on my nerves
The Neelys can't watch at all, get a room is right
    Anne Burrell makes sense
Rachel talks too much and sometimes make weird things
Curtis Stone is just too darned cute, who cares what he makes
Tyler Florence's recipes are mostly wonderful especially those in magazines.
