Yes, Tink argues with my husband and me. Then if she doesn't get her way, she turns around and grumbles to herself as she walks away....it is so funny.
This usually happens when she wants a treat and I say no.

Right now I have a 17 year 4 month old dog who can not walk or stand due to bad knees. HIs hind legs actually cross over. His will to live is strong & I can not put him down just because he has issues. When his time is ready he'll let me know. So we got him a cart so he can at least stand/walk some, but due to a bad heart he can only be in it to eat/drink/go potty. The rest of the time he lays on a fleece blanket. When his diaper is wet or he wants rolled over or up he says "MaMa"! No kidding. My vet was shocked when I had to take him in for a test & he cried out "MaMa". I was on the phone the other day & he cried out for me. Person on the phone was shocked & asked if I had taught him that. Nope he started this on his own. I've had other dogs & cats that talked as well.

Lily is a Siberian/Shiba mix, so she's quite the talker. She yodels with happiness, grumbles with displeasure, yells at me, etc. I love it. When she was an only dog, I was teaching her to talk. She had mastered 'Hello' and Walk'. We were working on 'I love you' when I brought Moira home. Lily would rather play than use words now. Moira's Border Collie/Lab, so barking is her form of communication. Lily doesn't bark. I didn't know she could for a year.

Ty my little fur baby tells me when she wants a treat. Her breadfast is the funny one. She get my attention then runs to the fridge and barks then goes ans stands in from of the stove and wags her tail. When she sees the frying pan she she so excited. She has me trained well.

My Barney used to grumble under his breath (I know he was swearing at DH) whenever DH told him something he didn't want to hear. It was so funny!!
Cats do too. Last night I was sewing and Mabel came up to me and say Hi in her way :)

I have 4 Chihuahua's and one will be sitting on the daybed in the computer room and just look at my husband and start barking until he say's something to her and then she will bark and look and wait for him to say something, and then she will "talk" to him again and wait her turn while he talks to her. I just laugh.

We have two little doxie's and the oldest one thinks he is human. My brother said no dog can act or think they are human. Well one time an emergency came up and my mother and his family live together. So they watched our dogs for us. When we came back..my brother said..take your human dog home. lol He actually sits in a chair, on his butt, back against the back of the chair, his little elbow on the arm of the chair and watches T.V. Or he does this outside on the front porch watching people walk by. When we say prayer, he actually crosses his front legs together. He also sleeps with a pillow. He does not lick your face, but places his snout against your mouth for kisses. So the side of his nose is against your mouth.

My Corgi (Lucy) is a little talker, when she wants to come back in from the backyard, she says "grrrr" at the sliding glass door until I hear her. When we announce that we're going to take a walk, she barks in response. It's kinda funny and cute.
